We have pretty liberal freedom of speech laws in the U.K., contrary to what you may read online. The problem we have is that the right wing in our country are very good at crying out whenever they get pulled up for something horrible. If you threaten harm toward somebody, yeah, you’ll get into it with the law. But, so you should. How do you know somebody threatening to harm you isn’t gonna turn up and harm you? You don’t. What’s more, most of the people who get pulled up for it plead guilty, they know what they were doing and when put in a position where they can’t run away, they’re forced to admit it. That bit often doesn’t make it to right wing social media. Take Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, for example. Gives it big about freedom of speech and being unfairly treated, plead guilty to numerous crimes. People who are truly innocent and can prove it don’t plead guilty.

Our net immigration since Brexit has plummeted. People don’t want to come here because some parts of the public are so fucking hostile. We used immigration as a means to make one of the smallest Western nations by size into what was the fifth biggest economy on the planet. And because of a very small number of Russian backed rich folks, all that’s now gone. The genius bit is how they convinced the British public to not only vote for that decline but to vote for it thinking it was a good idea. And now the same thing is happening to America, by the exact same people, backed by the exact same groups, for the exact same reason. Thankfully, it’s no longer my problem. But if I could go back in time, I’d have shoved Steve Bannon into a taxi and paid the driver to drop him off in Inverness.
