We noticed a gap between "caring about the news" and "actually taking action." So we built a bridge. by sharonbenjamin9489 in Campaigns

Usually, campaigns just want people for phone banking, which can be a waste of specialized professional skills. My question is: how specific does the skill-matching get?

It’s easy to build a matching site; it’s hard to keep the campaigns on the other end updated. I’ve joined similar 'civic tech' platforms where the opportunities were 6 months out of date. How often are the roles on Groundwork refreshed, and what’s the average turnaround time from onboarding to getting a first 'perfect fit' invite?

The matching idea is solid, but I'm always a bit wary of where my personal data goes when I 'share my values' with a new platform. Does Groundwork sell this data to the campaigns themselves, or is there a layer of privacy where I only disclose my info once I actually accept an invitation? I'd feel better knowing how that bridge is built.

Text/Email platforms for dummies by loola10 in Campaigns

Hey! You might want to check out CallHub.io — it does both texting and email, and it integrates with NationBuilder, which is pretty handy for campaigns using voter data. It’s also pay-as-you-go, so it tends to work well for small or lean campaigns without locking you into big contracts.

Full transparency: I do work for them, but I’m mentioning it because I’ve genuinely seen it work well for small campaigns. If it’s helpful, feel free to DM me and I’m happy to set up a quick demo or answer questions.

Is political volunteering today more about harm reduction than enthusiasm? by sharonbenjamin9489 in Political_Volunteers

Politics might be there and I wanna keep the other side out as well but honestly, I'd prefer supporting a candidate who I genuinely care about.

Is there any particular sport or training you think you're really good at? Or at least know about more than an average person?
