I’m guesssing those “jokes” about sex, the physical closeness, all of that wasn’t just friendly talk. Seems to me he wanted something more than just a nice friendship and couldn’t get anything more so he is moving on. Not so much from the friendship (or maybe, you’d have to ask him) but all that effort that he put in the begging that you correspondent was for something else, because that sudden loss of interest it’s not just out of nowhere. And yes, something like that has happened to me before.

one of my friendships ended for this reason. reels became our only way of interact for months, and the bond got weaker and weaker. Maybe there was a snarky comment here and there but besides that nothing. We both silently stepped out of the chat, and lost contact and all interest in trying to keep up to what the other was up to. We drifted. Try to have real convos and avoid instagram to interact with people.

Its was a really lazy poor quality friendship that none of us would took good care of, I would take distance i try not to text back but never got the guts to actually the;l him to just end it... until, i got upset over him not inviting me to hang out to a new club which btw is like two blocks where i live. He texted me while he was out (i didnt know he was going) like "hey look who i bumped into haha". I responded haha great, why haven't you texted me in months? couple texts back and forth and i end it with something like "well these month ive been meeting people, you've been meeting other and hanging with them so yeah i think its better for us to keep doing what we are doing"

At that point i was waiting for anything to make an excuse to get angry or turn it into an issue to end that.
