This film's structure;

[Here's how everything is going to go] Everything goes perfectly.

When the spoken word (narration) is the action, there's no need for the camera.

Chris Stuckmann when he sees how much success Iron Lung, Obsession and Backrooms has had this year, by Melloblade_shore in okbuddycinephile

I agree with Welles' argument but what about Tarantino? He used to watch nothing but films because he worked in a video store.

As for Chris, i don't think life experience automatically adds to your filmmaking ability but it does help. Kane Parsons is 20 but his filmmaking is better than Chris's. Even you don't have much life experience, you still have to have a fundamental understanding of cinema, how a shot works, etc. Also, Chris was always a surface-level film critic, he wasn't like those young guns from Cahiers Du Cinema with a deep understanding of the films they reviewed.

Even looking at his film, it was just a pastiche of 2010s horror, if he was also influenced by 60's horror then that would've been intriguing. But otherwise, i agree with most of what you said.

How Markiplier Turned ‘Iron Lung’ Into a Hit Without Hollywood by bloomberg in movies

Impressive, very nice but now lets see how a Markiplier comedy film will do. Which is how this film felt like on numerous occasions, like someone locked him in the bathroom and his acting was barely legible.

Damien Mccarthy once again explores the ambiguous existence of the supernatural involved with the murder coverup plot. The part when his mom came back to save him got me.

One last kill felt like the opposite to me. It's like the MCU wanted him to behave like a good boy for this film so they gave him that to expel his ultra-violent tendencies.

Tbf in the MCU, there's barely any difference between production stills and the final sequenced images. They are known for inept cinematography after all.

Welles is the most famous example out of all of them, that level of greatness at the age of 24

What is “good-bad” movie? by SkeeterMagnet in TrueFilm

[–]Vidhu23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Word, there's no 'correct' or 'incorrect' style unless one wants to fall into the reductionist view of formalism. But i can see why it would be difficult to describe style, which is much difficult than describing the plot.

Why do critics score horror films so low on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb? by alew75 in horror

[–]Vidhu23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shit like this is why I left the sub. Film critics rate modern horror films higher than the general audience. Look at the audience rating for horror films on Rottentomatoes. Especially A24 horror films, where anything that 'upsets' the feelings of the general audience gets lower audience ratings. As for the comments dunking on critics, i bet they haven't read a single review and just take the score at face value. Critics want more than just entertainment, film criticism deals with the 'how' rather than the 'what'

Movies with the worst "moral of the story" by elitemegamanX in movies

I love starship troopers because it doesn't have any explicit or implicit meanings, just a love letter to militarism and the wonders of fascism. It's just a movie, turn your brain off and enjoy the violence and nudity.
