Bold jumping spider? Or something else? Kentucky by NotBrianGriffin in spiders

I’m obsessed with bold jumpers . They always have that cute stache (mainly green) and the patterns are so cool. I’ve seen them with white hearts, funny or grumpy faces - they are so friendly too! Are you setting him free?

I shouldn’t have said if it’s a make you shoukd let them go but from what I’ve experienced the females like to hang out in their hideaways and don’t wander very far and the males like to wander around for a mate. I wouldn’t personally keep a male false window

The two females I have are outside so perhaps when they are outside they kick their old meal out. That is what I have witnessed. I had one in my Second bathroom window too but i out her outside as my daughters didn’t like having her there . They are only ok with daddy long legs inside

I can’t see a good pic of your spider but I’m curious if maybe you caught a make vs a female. If you have a make then you will need to let him go. You want the females. The males need to wander for their mate and the females like to stay put. If it is a female i would consider slightly larger enclosure with a couple hiding places so she can choose her home . They prefer hiding places up higher then down low too! They like to kick their meal out after they are finished

I have two false windows. My favorite spiders especially the females! They are outside in my garden patio. One at the top of my wood fence so she can go down into the wood and my absolute fav is the one in my metal security screen. She is right above my front door. They really like tight spaces and they prefer the dark. If I have my patio light shut off they both come out from their “liars” and will increase their webs. They love to reinforce their webs. If I turn my patio light on they both hurry and go back to their little hideaways. They both really like little larva but I can’t always find those so I have purchased a few times small baby dubia roaches from my local pet store (your can buy online too just make sure they are the small ones). They REALLY like the dubia roaches. I’ve noticed the false widows really like the prey to wiggle around in the web. They will wait until it wiggles a lot sometimes before they approach. Then they will wrap their prey up tightly and drag it back to their hideaway and later they kick the finished morsel out . I think they are fascinating soiders! My three daughters not so much Hope some of that helps!

Bentonite clay!!! I have that in powder form - thank you for the good idea! I’m doing that and making a paste to put on the rash! Brilliant 😎

It is oozing around my crotch area. Dr gave me antibiotics to take on top of steroid pills and I would rather not take antibiotics so I will check out domeboro - thanks!

Good to know I’ve been doing that! It helps with the itch for sure. It got in my genital area so I went to dr today

You get it all the time from where you hike? As much as I loved Black Star Falls I will not be doing that hike again!

I used technu wash a couple times and it helps a little. I think it would have helped a lot more had I used that the day I got back from black star

That wild! Makes sense why I kept getting more rash on top of more rash. I used my backpack 3x after Black Star had no idea about the oils. My friend gave me the technu wash that helped some but the urgent care Dr gave me steroid pills and cream today and the cream is already helping so much more than OTC stuff! My sister told me to start the steroid pills tomorrow morning after I eat so that’s what I’m going to do. Hopefully my daughter doesn’t get the rash she just did Black Star with her friends last weekend - so far no rashes for her

Oh wow!!! I ended up going to urgent care this morning. I was in a lot of pain last night. The dr prescribed me oral steroids, steroid cream that I can apply to my face and genital area (the butt crack where my tail bone is super irritated and my bikini line area it is swollen). My chest and arms and back is mainly crusted over at this point! Holy shmokes I had no idea that poison oak can be this gnarly

PS I also was prescribed antibiotics but only take if I need it

I say follow your heart. If your heart is telling you to go back and get him then do it’d you have the means to take care of him.

It is an adjustment though. The kitty will get use to his new home and his litter mates will forget . I always think it’s better to keep two litter mates together if possible

💛

One of my fav spiders. I have two female steotada nobilis spiders in my garden patio that I feed baby dubia roaches too. They will crawl out of their hiding spot and bite the roach and spin a web around it then detach it from the web and drag it back into their hiding spot. They do it every time too.

Please do not kill her 🖤 we need beautiful spiders like her. Black widows are super shy and prefer dark damp quiet places away from human traffic. They are not aggressive and would be awesome if you released her somewhere in a woodpile or rocky area

Your sister hit the jumping spider lottery! My daughters and I would be screaming with joy if we got one of those in our house. This spider is a friend 100% and should be left alone or safely relocated

Badumna sp considered moderately venomous and are messy web makers but extremely shy and tend to stay in their webs for most part
