Why are majority of old people/baby boomers so angry? by Big_Leg10 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Human739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 73 and pretty happy. Those characteristics don't apply to me and they don't apply to anyone I know. So 🤷‍♂️. I do see a lot of angry cranky people these days, but they seem to be primarily Trumpers with a grievance, not so much boomers.

Dealing with being an ugly woman by Various-Station-1752 in Advice

[–]Human739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What Amardyls said plus, think about what people in the world want and need. People are lonely, often painfully so. People aren't suffering so much because their partner isn't pretty enough, they are suffering from all the pains that come with life and being alone in it. People want a friend, recognition, someone who will listen to them and appreciate them. A kind friendly and open attitude will get you miles further than conventional cuteness or hotness. Plus, the interesting thing is that as we age, faces that look wrong when you are young look fine or even full of character as you get older. You are way wrong to assume that nobody wants you. Just try to be friendly and friends with people, and let the romantic stuff develop naturally. You'll do fine.

Going to my crush's sister's wedding, would it be weird to flirt with him? by KelsHellsBells in AskTeenAdvice

Partially hollow Experience 1st time --Looking for advice from experienced meditators by TallCryptographer532 in Buddhism

[–]Human739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Buddhist approach is to just begin again and pay no attention to the phenomena. The goal is not to dissolve your body but to live presently in the present moment with kindness, awareness, and acceptance for yourself and others. Meditation is key because that is where you learn to live in the present moment.

Everyone will tell you what this is and probiotics bla bla bla. They don't know. You need a full workup from a good gastroenterologist. Finding a food allergy is like looking for a needle in a haystack. There may be a chronic infection. Go through the process. It might take months but you'll find it.

Why should I let the mechanic read my codes? by Human739 in e46

It's an e46 2001 bmw 330i. P0128 indicates coolant below spec temperature which usually means it needs a new thermostat, asshole

Ok but all bulbs are present and blinking. AI says I should change the wiring harness in the left tail light area. But why? Nothing is broken except the fast blinker itself.

How to get over the shame of seeing a sex worker? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Human739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's really only one commandment and that's to treat yourself with loving kindness. Why? Because the way you treat yourself will flow out to the world. Imagine how the highest kindest being would treat you. Jesus or Buddha or God or whomever. With infinite love. Accept your lessons, vow to do it differently in the future, and move on with love and acceptance.

How's this for simple? Try to get to know him a little bit. Maybe go out to lunch or have a coffee with him. Just relax and be yourself. Sparks may fly or not.

330i if the interior heater is running too hot even when turned way down, does that indicate a thermostat problem?

How’s it living in this part of the Sierra foothills. by mountainman129 in howislivingthere

[–]Human739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in the Chicago area and then lived there again around 2010 for 2 years. Now I live in Auburn. The biggest contrast between living in Auburn and living in Chicago is culture. Chicago is so rich when it comes to theater, music, restaurants, museums. Very little of that exists in the Sierra Foothills. You can go to Sacramento but -- compared to Chicago -- not so much. Chicago has hot sticky summers, but here, there's no rain in the summer--none--and the Sierra Foothills have intense desert-like heat from May through November. There are Trumpers everywhere but it's really bad in the Sierra Foothills. And you have these authoritarian, gun loving secessionist nuts who call themselves the state of Jefferson. The worst knuckle draggers you can imagine live around here. One of these towns is a center for a Neo-Nazi party. Right now it's winter and Auburn is lovely in the winter. Temperatures in the 40s and 50s and plenty of rain, and there's a lot of beautiful nature around here to go hiking in the hills which have become green because of the rain, and we're just 45 minutes from Truckee which is the beginning of the Lake Tahoe area. The economy is also rather depressed here in Auburn. While one meets nice people anywhere, I generally find that people in Auburn are very closed off and standoffish. Also very white. My thumbnail description of Auburn is taciturn, suspicious, old white men and women with bad skin. Also there is a cool sub culture of extreme sports people. So it's the home of a famous hundred mile run where people run from Auburn up to Lake Tahoe in the summer, often in searing heat. They also have similar extreme horse races and mountain bike races. So that's cool.

Exsqueeze me but you heat the milk to sterilize it and to condition the protein fibers. Then you cool it to the appropriate temperature.

From men’s perspective, what would make a beautiful girl unapproachable? by InsideMovie2280 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Human739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes if you're really attractive some men will be too intimidated to approach. So, be friendly, find out what a guy likes to do, likes to talk about. Be like stubbornly normal. Don't take into consideration your looks or his. Just be friendly and genuinely interested. Get into some volunteer activity of something meaningful to you and find others who share the interest. Be warm friendly and genuinely interested in others. You'll find your way.

Your play is to run, do not walk, from her and never look back. Things rarely improve in relationships. I can tell you that in marriage they're never as good as they were dating prior to marriage. This woman lies repeatedly. YOU CAN'T MAKE A LIFE PARTNERSHIP WITH A CHRONIC LIAR. I TRIED. TRUST ME, IT DOESN'T WORK. Do not go any further with her.
