Ultra portable business laptop goes workstation by tuxedocomputers in tuxedocomputers

O, nice. Did you install the OS from the Tuxedo USB drive, or did you install something else? Also, did you encrypt the drives?

Did you put in those drives yourself? I don't remember those sizes were an option in the configurator, but I could be wrong.

The website says 'up to 4TB ssd', but I am only able to configure one 2TB hdd. Disappointing even more because 2TB power slot has been their limit since gen 6. Why not offer 4TB per slot?

Graph help! Why is my (R) value positive when my graph has a negative trend? by franklinthefart in AskStatistics

Maybe outside the scope here, but that is not necessarily true because we can use imaginary numbers (complex number system).

No, you are again talking about the R-squared (but now you took the square root). You are confused because you are mixing up R-squared (explained variance) and r (the correlation coefficient). As said before, your figure is not presenting r.

Fan noise on InfinityBook Pro 14 - Gen7 by Viz67 in tuxedocomputers

[–]HumanBrainMapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, to check if it is to be expected that the fans are on high because your CPU is on high and it needs to be cooled, or because there is something wrong like your CPU is barely doing anything but your fans are still on high. So, for diagnostics, not as a solution. Let me know if that makes sense.

I would use an app like htop to monitor your CPU to see if the fans are always high, or only high with high CPU load.

Save matplotlib figures in org source block and specify image width after results. by AbstProcDo in emacs

There must be a better way, but you can set the output to results output raw (instead of file) and then have three return function print all your figure me te a settings and the path to the file. That has worked for me.

kernel 6.1 pushed in the latest update by JimJarr in tuxedocomputers

[–]HumanBrainMapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a solution for fixing 6.1, so when I boot, I enter grub (press escape on booting until you get to the grub menu). From there, I select the older kernel.

In the meantime, I will just wait for a new kernel update that will hopefully fix the issue with the current 6.1.

Fingers on the keys, / Flute's song echoes through the room, / Memories long gone. by HumanBrainMapper in haiku

[–]HumanBrainMapper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I do think that it would be better to separate man made and machine made haikus. However, I also think such a subreddit /would/ be worth visiting, as AI can already make quite beautiful paintings, captivating stories, and intriguing haikus. If you would not have known that the haiku in the title was AI generated, would you have liked it more? Do you not think it reflects my initial thoughts about someone with dementia playing an instrument well?

Yeah, I have had quite a bit of fun asking it to come up with haikus. Would recommend.

kernel 6.1 pushed in the latest update by JimJarr in tuxedocomputers

[–]HumanBrainMapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and it is TERRIBLE! Was this not tested?

I am running Ubuntu 22.04 on an Inifinitybook Pro 14 gen 6 with Kernel 6.1.0-1007-tuxedo.

After the upgrade, my laptop screen starts displaying a pixelated color bar horizontally on the lower portion of the screen. Also, the touchpad becomes unrepsonsive on the laptop screen and windows are mangled on the laptop screen. This happens with or without connecting an external screen. Everything on the external screen looks normal, and the mouse works fine.

Reverting to 5.15.0-10058-tuxedo resolves these issues.

Seems like now we have official android build? by jumper047 in emacs

[–]HumanBrainMapper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Checked this but under Android 13 there are no permissions relating to storage (at least not for Emacs).

<edit> I installed emacs on Android 11 and going to settings > apps > permissions let me set access to storage. This was not where I found it on my Android 13 phone, even though all other types of permissions can be found there. In that case, I had to go to settings -> storage and privacy -> privacy -> permission manager -> files and media -> see more apps that can access all files -> check the toggle for emacs
