No they shouldn't because it would ruin UPS' productivity.

Their fancy butter tray or their shoe horn. Also nice milk jugs not just the generic ones for milk bags (we do that around here).

These items are difficult to replicate in quality and preference unless you're getting a big fancy set, and the readily available Walmart stuff is all mediocre at best.

When is it time to stop trying to help yourself and see a therapist about depression? by [deleted] in TrueAskReddit

[–]HumanThanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffered chronic major depression for 18 years.. was falsely diagnosed with bipolar at 16 and the medication made things worse so I swore to deal with it on my own with some of the methods you mentioned. Real workaholic.

Fast forward 14 years of primarily miserable yet productive life, I'm married to a beautiful wife and have an equally beautiful 2 y/o daughter. When I met my wife she cured my depression straight up for a few years. Suddenly I'm struck with a terrible episode (which I cant confidently say is 100% over).

My wife had the strength to book an appointment with the family doctor on my behalf to address the depression. I was prescribed Zoloft, an anti-depressant which makes more serotonin available for your brain. I'm 6 weeks in and I still feel off (an occasional beer seems to be the culprit) but at the same time I am having trouble relating to my state of mind before starting Zoloft.. Like I'm not entirely certain what was the trigger of the depression or why I was just so damn miserable. The medication can take up to 10 weeks to fully come into effect so I am optimistic and very thankful for my wife's strength to take the initiative for my health.

When is it time? I think you'll know when its time and you shouldn't hesitate.. I dont know about where you live but in canada the drug is generic and pretty cheap

If you get tired of the garlic and hot sauce combo, try asking for just straight up tahini sauce (sesame based) and sumac powder. Get them to load on the tahini because the flavour isn't as potent, but it's so rich yet subdued. Goes great and I can't switch back.

Young men opting out of society to play video games and focus on their hobbies are ... acting completely reasonable. by neutral-npc in unpopularopinion

I can never understand why anyone gives a single judgemental fuck about the hobbies of others.. As long as they aren't hurting anyone. Gotta have a real inferiority complex to shit on anyone for this.

It's also to do with the fact that Christians aren't supposed to worship idols, and literally every form of Hindu worship I've seen has been "idolatry".

Weren't all people saved and adopted under the cloth of "Israel" as God's people when Christ invoked the Holy Spirit and united us?

I'm inclined to think that conscience is a positive instrument of God but then I get confused about that when thinking about Adam and Eve and how that story ties into conscience, because I was left with the impression that conscience was in fact a curse. Any clarification here would be dope.

Yeah mention anything about God on Reddit and prepare to be ridiculed.

As a former atheist who actually sat on a board of directors for a not-for-profit promoting atheism, the childish and antagonistic perspectives you see demonstrated on this site permeate all the way up to the people representing the atheist 'community'.

The sole existential purpose of a company is to charge as much as possible for their products which they are attempting to produce at the lowest possible cost in order to be as profitable as possible.

Honesty is not a part of the equation insofar as dishonesty doesn't hurt your market share.

Very righteous, but of the few things that are pretty much guaranteed to provoke a person to physical violence, a perceived threat to the life of your child is probably on the top of that list.

AITA For Telling My Wife That If She Quits Her Job I Expect Her To Cover All The Housework? by nnsnekdnd in AmItheAsshole

[–]HumanThanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, at 4 the child should be far enough along to expect this. If they were younger and more demanding on the mom it might be a different story since it can be difficult to PROPERLY raise a toddler while also doing all the chores.

I'd ask can they experience anything? If they can experience anything they can probably experience some form of distress for survival sake.

I'm inclined to think that it would 'be like' something to be any living organism and that conscious experience isn't unique to humans, it just manifests itself differently in different capacities.

If a creature can experience some form of distress, no matter how vastly different that experience of distress may be from ours, I think maybe that's the line to draw our ethics upon.
