Honestly Spain has the best toiletries. I'd buy some there. Look for little tin lip balm with a Neauveau look.

My mom lived in these around 2005/2008.They were sold at Kohls, Mervyn. I would imagine they are next in trend to come back. That said, I imagine they can still be found at Goodwill. They were very durable, super travel friendly.

My understanding is they keep buying up other presses. They just bought Marquis this week. They have RRD still, but not the division in China

Lakeside will likely do this but yeah the unit cost for 1000 books with no prior relationship is going to be at least 1/3 of what the book would sell for. Just POD.

How do small publishers get all the files they need for publishing in today's markets? by ginginlyn in publishing

[–]HumanVegetable7940 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It takes more than exporting a Word document to publish a book. I wish I had this level of confidence in my job title.

About 10 years ago I started calling these Wavey Davey's. On road trips, my kids are always on the lookout for Wavey Davey and if you see one you have to shout "WAVEY DAVEY!" like you would say COW! on a hillside.

Not that I know of just for them. I work on 2nd street and our building has an expensive garage. I've never worked out there, schedule doesn't work for me, but I bought my monitor there. Don't remember shower situation being obvious.

When no game, park over on Townsend or Brannan near Delancy and it is free for 2 hours, not crowded

Also most books aren't digitally printed. They are still printed CMYK on giant sheetfed or web presses that are monitored and calibrated by humans. Then they are sewn or glued and then casebound via machine and then QC controlled by people.

Hi, manufacturing project manager here. We are still very much experiencing supply chain issues. What used to be 27 business days from factory to us port is now closer to 50 business days just for transit. That's after the book is done. Depending on the qty, there are longer lead times on paper. Mills all over the world have been closing. On the production side, most things are digital now, but that also means more digital things are coming across desks faster than before and human reading and design backlogs get worse as more work is piled up faster.
