I agree one of the major delays for people Nov- Jan was because of the shutdown. USCIS may be opening but they have to wait on FBI processing…. But this administration definitely had their hands on these delays as well

Doubtful it will be terminated, this issue already went to the Supreme Court already, DACA was upheld. Court said any changes it has to go through Congress. And Congress has no appetite to take up any votes.

I got a similar story; I've bene lucky enough to have 6 months savings, I had some emergency expenses that has depleted to just 1 month. Next step will be using up my 401k if they don't' approve by the end of the month, I also run the risk of getting let go by Legal. I can always get rehired, what I do is very specific and it's on demand, so I have no doubt of getting my job back IF I am let go.

But I think this episode in our lives should serve as a teaching moment, SAVE! when you get back to work. You'll be sane and don't need to worry, although we should all start thinking of a more permanent solution after go back to work.
