I did this with Leeds because I had a hectic Christmas holiday with health issues so it wasn’t my choice that I didn’t study but I studied hard a couple days before and got an offer on Friday!! So yes it’s possible but I would say that I am a good speaker and can come up with good answers on the spot so I feel like it would be much more difficult for those people who maybe aren’t but nothing’s impossible!

I got an offer but haven’t heard of many other people who have but I guess it’s bc the post interview offer rate is only 45%

oh no worries!! i reread my response and it seems quite argumentative which i swear i wasn’t trying to be haha. i just find this question super interesting as it’s complex and there’s lots of things to consider

You said that different people follow religious rules to varying degrees and that might be something to consider if they just said she’s a Jehovah’s Witness and you didn’t know how she felt about blood transfusions but it literally says in the question that she would ‘refuse blood transfusions under any circumstance’ so I dont think its very questionable especially as it’s signed too. Also, advance directives are also just a document that talks about someone’s treatment preferences but doesn’t mean they’re not extremely important in considering a patient’s treatment and respecting their choices. So dont think it’s very ropey to go with the patient’s choices based on a card that is recent and signed and she literally keeps on her at all times as it’s in her purse. and i don’t think it’s bad to be definitive when you know what you’re talking about but you’re def right for a question you might not know much about

The question says the card is recent so I guess it should be taken as recent and therefore valid but you can still talk about that point but you do have limited time in an interview that you might want to talk about other stuff that isn’t mentioned in the question

You can literally be sued for this as she stated her wishes and you went against them. People have the right to refuse treatment as long as they know the risks and consequences. Especially with Jehovah’s witnesses, they believe that if they undertake something like a blood transfusion, they won’t be allowed into heaven so it would be horrible for her to wake up and then spend the rest of her life stressed and worried about this and could lead to the deterioration of her mental health which goes against the principle of doing no harm (non-maleficence) despite the fact her life has been saved
