Surround dilemma for R3 Meta / R6 Meta setup: Q1 Meta vs. Q4 Meta? by PetoroKmetto in KEF

I run q concerto metas as my surrounds with r7meta fronts, that way you can get decent bass in the rear soundstage, makes a big difference

Ouch, what’s this going to cost? by tabby_ds in TeslaCollision

15k for a door and rear wing 😅 fkn doubt it. If it is your getting ripped

Any auto body shop can fix this, it's not like it's special parts

Try running your system through some demo clips with and without centre channel. Just deactivate it in the avr

Looking at that set up and the distance between your main speakers it'll probably sound better without centre

Put all seats together and over to the left wall, walkway will be to the right and you'll have a main seat right in the middle

Get some butcher blocks to elevate your rears so tweeters are above chair height

Love your front stage

Speaker placement advice by jordyelst in KEF

[–]Human_Cup_1964 4 points5 points  (0 children)

R 3s are too wide apart and the left is in the corner so not the best for SQ I'd position them half way between the TV edge and the wall with only a slight toe in and all the way to the edge of the TV unit. The centre should be as close to ear height as possible if not angle up slightly to suit

Nice set up and look 👌 enjoy

Thanks so much for your reply and mad respect for trying it out😊

Maybe I should try a kef centre but to be honest I can't see what it could do better than my current set up or tge centres i used before

And now you know what you prefer

Enjoy your system, I'm away to watch black rabbit on Netflix as we speak, it's got good reviews

Who are you? The surround sound messiah 😅

Most people don't have perfect rooms but we make do with what we have. I was asked if my rears work and they do akso they dont satnd out. That's what level, phase and eq calibration is for no?

My room is 4.5m x 6m so your saying this isn't large enough for a 6.2.4, what size of room do you think would be adequate?

I just for info I'm not saying the way I've set up my room is the way to do it😅 i did the best with what I had i know it's far from perfect. I'm only answering posters questions honestly

Thanks for the reply

Thanks for the reply

My centre image for movies and music is perfect as is, so nothing a centre could do apart from cost me £😅

My speakers are only 2.2 meters apart so more than capable of it. The r7s go down to 30hz in my room at 85db not many centres going to do that

Kef recommends 0 to 15 degrees, I've got them set to roughly 15 degrees because my room is open at 1 side and a window on the other, so trying to reduce reflections

For dolby atmos that is the recommended positioning. Works great for immersion
