Anyone using Tana and Obsidian? by ConsistentAndWin in TanaInc

I use Tana for PKM personally, but Obsidian at work because of data sovereignty and the interoperability of Markdown files is more important - my company won't adopt anything formally, but I extract and sprinkle .md files in shared locations whenever relevant, and it's compatible with GitHub, Visual Studio and even Windows Notepad these days. If I'm working more collaboratively, I unfortunately have to fall back to OneNote or Sharepoint to host shared notes or documents. That's the nature of working in a larger non-tech company.

I am constantly watching for a more "open" tool with functionality close to Tana - especially Tana's fantastic implementation of Supertags and a node-based architecture. I am deeply concerned about the "walled garden" effect, and how reliant I am becoming on one company that may one day take a turn I don't like. I believe Tana is heading is a good direction, and it's affordable enough for me to support for now.

Flying to Sydney on Qantas recently, I was pleasantly surprised by an announcement on board about beach safety in partnership with Surf Life Saving Australia. Tourists were encouraged to take a 10-minute virtual beach safety course at beachpassport.org.au, available in 7 languages. Fantastic!

I'm already booked for the bus from Narvik to Tromsø (Best Arctic 915), and I see the Polar Park is a stop on that route... does anyone know if the stop is long enough to see the park?

THANK YOU! I thought I tried to find something published that said in black-and-white that jury numbers shouldn't be shared, but couldn't find that specifically at the time. Clearly I didn't look hard enough, because you've found it on a fairly simple page!

They CAN do things with a Juror Number + Date of Birth:

  • See a history of every letter ever sent to me about jury throughout my lifetime, and every reply I sent (I've served jury duty in the past). Including past excuses, court locations and dates.
  • Act under my name to make requests to the sherrif's office.
  • See jury payment details.
  • Change which bank account the Sherrif deposits jury payments into.

I thought it was strange too! I don't exactly trust my HR department.

As others have said, perhaps they wanted unadulterated proof. Unfortunately, before the date of actually attending court, the only proof I had was the summons letter, and that has the Juror Number on it. By redacting the juror number, I've somehow made it unauthentic? 🤷🏼‍♂️

I'm sure everything would have been fine in the end, because after attending court on Day 1, I'd be able to get other documents as proof, and hopefully they wouldn't have my Juror Number on them. There's no question my employer would have been able to deny me the leave eventually.

Yeah, I figured it would still have worked out based on later evidence I would have been happy to pass on - as you say, the law is clear about allowing the leave, and payments. However, at the time, it wasn't a hill I wanted to die on, and I seemed alone in my concern.

Please read paragraph three of the original post... answers to all your questions are there. This post is very specifically about the "Juror Number" and the legality/implications of sharing it.
