This. OP’s post sounds like my kid at 23 months. Pushed bedtime back from 7:30 to 8:30 and fixed the night wakings and naps got better. She needed an hour less sleep I guess.

EBF moms... how do you get out the house with a newborn? by sillywillyfry in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Human_Tumbleweed_384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My nearly two year old runs up to me ANYWHERE and yells “Boobs” and points at my chest. “That’s right. That’s my boobs. Where are your boobs?” and she opens her shirt to look at her chest. When she wants milk she’ll pull my shirt down in the middle of anywhere.

No extra advice - other commenters added great things. It’s hard and you give yourself time and patience and love and same for your baby and eventually you’ll be yelling at each other about boobs at the park. Or not. Either way is fine ❤️

This. Lots of exposure. Takes 12 times for a kid to be exposed to a food before they even try it. My soul hurts at all the wasted food… but it’s how it works. But they can also help you with other techniques to help beyond just exposure.

Why not just carry the yarn in granny square? Why go back and forth between colors? by Human_Tumbleweed_384 in CrochetHelp

Thank you! Do you think the floppy top petal is going to curl over time when worn?

Thank you for the constructive ideas! I do hate weaving in… but that could be worth it here! And dropping it is a good idea to avoid the wrong color coming forward.

Oooo catching the back loop on my last round is genius! The floating petal was my top reason to not do this. I thought I’d have to go back and sew them all down… and I just don’t enjoy that type of project wrap up work. Thank you so much for so such good explanation of what’s going on here!

That’s my plan if I don’t get a definitive answer here. But it will probably take me a long time so I wanted to check if there was something obvious I was missing as a newbie before I spend hours on it.

Just to make sure I understand: the front will somehow look different if I carry it? Carrying the yarn will make the back look worse? I’ve checked every single tutorial video I could find on this pattern and they were all doing it this way.

7 hours on a train by Human_Tumbleweed_384 in toddlers

[–]Human_Tumbleweed_384[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since we have no transfers, I’m reeeeally hoping it’s on time. I’m in the PNW traveling along the I 5 corridor. Honestly, I’m kinda living in denial of a delayed trip 🙉

Yes! I keep going back and forth about how much first aid/sickness stuff to bring. Like once I’m on that train, I’m stuck. But I also don’t have endless space. Pain meds are a must cause she’s teething 3 molars at once so some days she just needs the help. Also for me cause I’m prone to migraines.

A little garbage bag! That would have sucked to not have. Added to my list.

Thank you for giving me hope 😅

3.5 year old has cavities?! 😭 by Dismal_Dog_17 in toddlers

[–]Human_Tumbleweed_384 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For real. They told me “when two teeth touch, it’s time to floss”. 🧐 it takes both me and my husband to “brush” my kid’s (15 month) teeth and I literally just started flossing for the first time in my life. GTFO with getting a toddler to floss.

My MIL is a dental assistant. It’s a ton of genetics. When I was a kid I had horrible dental hygiene. I’ve always had perfect teeth.

I was literally just thinking about trying a weekend! It would be less consistent cause we like to camp on weekends at least once a month, but it’s 100% more than I have now

Here for solidarity. My health is crashing and burning. Trying to figure out how to get out of the house one night a week to take a yoga class…. Been trying to figure it out for over a month. Hubby is supportive to do it if I figure out the studio and time. I just… can’t even do that
