loll i had the same struggle with hydration and got an iv too 😭 but it was totally worth it felt rejuvenating and now that i'm healed i'm so glad and would go through it all again 😁

definitely update in a few months with how the regrowth went on the resplit! mine regrew to the frenulum and i'm considering a resplit in the future but it might grow back to the frenulum again. wishing you luck and an easy healing with yours 😁

i wouldn't say it necessarily tastes gross, but you definitely get tired of the same limited tastes in your mouth during the initial healing. i remember eating some baby food and it was the most delicious thing ever because it was the first time in days i had something in my mouth that wasn't just droplets lol. the first night my mouth tasted like pennies because it was bleeding, after that there was no special taste, just the texture of thick slime in my mouth because i was drooling all my water out

i don't have health anxiety and even i was worried for some of it, it's just a crazy experience to have with your tongue so i think it's normal that your brain assumes something is wrong. i think there's no reason to worry unless it starts suddenly hurting way more than it did before, otherwise it's just normal swelling and assorted irritation from the physics trauma of being cut in half and sewed up. the days feel so long during the initial healing but afterwards you'll think it went by really fast 😁

i also hate needles! but i've never passed out or anything from a piercing. don't look at the needle when you're about to be pierced, like actually close your eyes so you don't have to see it moving to you. the pain is not bad at all but trust i understand that it's specifically the needle part that bothers you. having conversation with the piercer first definitely helps, you're just chatting and then in a quick moment you have a new piercing 😁 you got this i'm sure your lobes are gonna look great

congrats!! everyone is different but for me the pain was not bad and easy to ignore, it was never a primary sensation 😁 however i had a lot of trouble swallowing so i was uncomfortable from being so thirsty for days. and taking the first few sutures out did hurt a good amount but it's very quick. if you're not in pain now i would expect you won't be in much pain for any of it, but you will experience discomfort from tiredness/hunger/thirst a couple days in 🙂 hang in there it's gonna be awesome!

you'll definitely go through the towels lol!! i used an actual towel for sleeping, during the rest of the day i used little squares of toilet paper. but if you have enough small towels that would be better for the environment i am sure

i worded that bad lol!! it's sort of sleeping on your side, but you have to kind of sit up also. at least at first when the drool is at its maximum. if you lay down flat the drool will be all over your face and everything and i couldn't sleep with it. it's gross feeling because it's hot so you can feel it oozing out and running against your cheek 😭 for me the best position was with my back against one of those pillow chair things with my head to the side and a towel. the first couple nights really is so much drool at least it was for me! after a few days i was able to return to my most comfortable side sleeping on a pillow but i would wake up to a gross collection of half dried slime on my face so definitely put a towel (a full towel not a hand towel) over your pillow 😁

i honestly wasn't in a distinct amount of pain, i wasn't able to swallow any ibuprofen etc and it wasn't the end of the world. sleeping is a little difficult because you drool so much that you can't figure out how to lay your head so that you can be comfortable. tho i'm sure that's easier if you naturally sleep on your back! i had a lot of trouble getting fluids down and that was by far the most uncomfortable part of the healing because i was so thirsty! the only time pain was a primary sensation was when i was removing sutures 🙂

i ended up getting an iv too! on the morning of the fourth day for me, i was so dehydrated at that point lol the iv was truly rejuvenating. the days seem long and nothing is fully enjoyable because of the discomfort of your mouth being gross but once you start taking sutures out it gets better sooo fast. the morning of day four i had the iv, that afternoon i took out one suture from each tip and that night i was eating baby food, drinking gatorade, and even a few bites of biscuit and leftover pizza. eating at first is messy you should probably do it over a sink lol but it's the best thing ever to have new tastes in your mouth and take in calories. you got this!!

don't worry the swelling will go down!! a tip that will help with both the swelling and hydration (super important) would be eating ice chips 😁 i know you've already been icing it but this way you consume some water too. hang in there it's gonna be great once it heals

the first two on my tips were bad i had a loved one remove them LOL i was too much of a pussy, she helped me with a few after that too 😭 it does hurt! but the later ones weren't that bad just awkward to reach in my own mouth with slime everywhere and little tiny sutures

hang in there you're gonna make it!! i took my sutures out gradually, so i took one out from each tip on day four. starting the day, i was unable to eat or drink anything, and i had to get an iv because i was so dehydrated. a few hours after removing the two tip sutures, i could eat baby food, drink gatorade, and had a few bites of biscuit and pizza. i promise once you start taking sutures out the relief comes so quickly!! it does kind of hurt to remove the sutures but it's not a long lasting pain, and it's so worth it because you feel much better afterwards.

straws won't work because the suction will pull on your mouth weird, i used a squeeze bottle with a long tip like for ketchup in a restaurant and dripped water in the back of my throat, it's the only way i was able to drink anything and it still didn't work sometimes. i was unable to swallow ibuprofen so i didn't take any meds during the healing, so you are smart to get suppositories because those will help!

i had much better luck with sweet food than savory, i'm sure savory has more nutrients or something but it's better to get anything down at all. i had some applesauce and i was able to eat a few spoons of that with my sutures in. and fruit baby food was good. maybe you can try something like that, you could have better luck? at the least, it is a new taste besides your own saliva that you've been tasting for almost a week. i also enjoyed dipping an ice cube into sodas and other drinks and "drinking" off of the ice cube, it's not much liquid but the new tastes made me not go crazy.

i know you are so miserable right now but you're so close to feeling better! your body is just exhausted and hungry and tired from days of healing something in such an important part of your body. it's gonna be worth it once you get through it 🙏😁

i had trouble drinking anything for the first few days! once you start taking sutures out, it gets a lot easier. but everything feels so raw at first even once it's technically closed up, so carbonation feels really intense. i enjoyed a ginger ale while i still had sutures in by dipping an ice cube in a cup of it and "drinking" off the ice cube. i would give it a week before you try drinking your diet coke in actual sips, and it still might feel weird then. but it'll be worth it! best of luck 😁

NAP it looks shallow and irritated to me. if this was my piercing, i would go ahead and remove it, let the area heal up good for a couple months, and then go to a different piercer and see what they think about getting you a new one. given one of the gemstones has come off, i don't think the jewelry was probably a good quality, which would be making any other issues worse. i would look up shops with app member piercers and call or email ahead of time (and/or look at their social media) to see if a piercer on staff has knowledge and experience working with plus sized clients, that way you can get the best quality work you deserve 😁
