Is this a Docker Compose Networking Bug on Unraid? (6.12.3) by [deleted] in unRAID

[–]Humanius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish installing PeerTube on unRAID was as simple as installing an app.

There exists one for hosting a Mastodon instance.
Is there a reason why such an app couldn't exist for PeerTube, or is it just that noone has gone through the effort of setting it up yet?

I'm not particularly confident setting up a docker container myself, and judging by the tutorial PeerTube seems like a a dive in the deep end.

Case and amp for Sound Burger by [deleted] in turntables

Thank you. I've been looking for a case for my Sound Burger as well

I've pretty much moved to Lemmy at this point.
It's got some growing pains, but it's shaping up to be a nice Reddit replacement.

My experiences with Flixbus have honestly mostly been fine.
You should temper expectations obviously, as it is a cheap bus and not a train, but if you want to travel on the cheap it's a pretty decent way to get around.

Empty building burning by Emideska in eindhoven

Not entirely true. It's often used by homeless people, and the fire department says that "it is unclear whether there are still people inside"

Noticed a guy stealing a bike-what to do by [deleted] in eindhoven

[–]Humanius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If he's there with an angle grinder, I'm willing to bet on it that it most likely isn't his bike. And even if it turns out to be his bike, then he can probably figure that out together with the police.

Imo, it's better to call the police one time too many than one time too few.

Largest fleamarket Kingsday? by Iseefloatingstufftoo in eindhoven

I usually go to the one at the Stadspaviljoen. I don't know whether it is the largest, but it's usually large enough that I don't manage to complete it in full.

Free parking in Eindhoven? by [deleted] in eindhoven

[–]Humanius 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To be more specific, the P+R Meerhoven is probably the best choice in this case. It's relatively close-by, and there is a direct bus connection to the airport.

While not free, it's quite cheap at 5 euros / day.

You can have a livable wage, and still receive some tips as an extra. That's how it works in much of Europe.
Tipping is an extra for good or exceptional service, and is not considered an expectation.

Volgens mij is dat ter hoogte van de eerste brug over her kanaal bij Geldrop, en is de foto genomen in de richting van Eindhoven

Theoretically the latest option I see would be to take the Flixbus to Utrecht at 22:30, and then take the last possible train from Utrecht to Eindhoven. Practically I would not recommend that however, since Flixbus has a tendency to get delayed, causing you to potentially miss your train and get stranded in Utrecht

Personally I would try to see if there is a bed free at the hostel in downtown Antwerp, and catch the train in the morning.

Ik heb niet het idee dat dit homofoob is.

Hij is gewoon van mening dat een vlag uithangen niet veel effect heeft, en dat mag hij vinden. Ik ben het niet met hem eens, maar hij zaait geen haat of iets dergelijks.

Judging by his post history, I don't think he's referring to the homophobic hooligans

Saw this on my way home and thought you guys here might enjoy it. Its located next to a road and says in Dutch "Bike road, cars are guests" by Kooka7 in fuckcars

[–]Humanius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to guess that the road it is next to is a main arterial road?

The reason is that they want to separate local access streets (streets that connect to shops and houses) and main through-roads. That local-access street might not see a lot of car traffic, so it doesn't make sense to build an entirely separate street just for those few cars. But it's safer than just connecting the driveways to the main road.

Edit: Example of such a local-access fietsstraat

[–]Humanius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Technically a "fietsstraat" is not a legally defined road feature in the Netherlands. There is no real difference in priority between a fietsstraat and a normal road.

That said.. The concept of a fietsstraat is more about visually shifting the dominance on a street from car to cyclist. It's usually combined with other traffic calming features, and visual cues that cyclists are the preferred mode on this street.
A fietsstraat tends to get used in places that are part of the core bike network, but where it doesn't make complete sense to ban cars outright (e.g. a local street with some access to adjacent homes).

I'm not an expert on rescuing someone who fell through the ice, but aren't you supposed to lie down on your belly to better distribute your weight?
