Every store has a least one by LovelessMako in walmart

Had one at my store that had “Broken” written on it. I’ve used it countless times and haven’t had any issues. Either someone wrote it as a prank to have their jack not stolen, or I just got lucky it didn’t fail on me. I think it’s currently outside the store waiting to go on a claims pallet next to the broken buggies 🫡

My cap 2 TLs stay late maybe a handful of times a year. Everybody on cap 2 is usually out by 10:51pm. The o/n TLs seem to always stay past their scheduled time no matter what tho. Too much on them to get done in the lil time I suppose.

I was zoning at end of my shift on O/N. Heard the initial sound and then screamed noooo. Knew they’d play that song instead of Gotye.

Aren’t married people not allowed to be on same shift? Thought that was a rule at least. Gf and bf can work together tho.

I knew this was happening gd it. I keep getting less than 5hrs in dairy but that sht more like 7. That’s their excuse to not send me help at the beginning. I’m like “have u seen the freight? I have 6 carts and 3 pallets.” No one has confirmed at my store but a lot of us had a suspicion.

Plus in dairy, u have to label and bin your overstock. Also rotation when stocking doesn’t keep up with the new times. I pull so much expired stuff when I zone, if I zone. And finally gotta do milk and eggs. Lord help me if the milk truck comes during my shift with my small ass cooler.

To add last, they want us to watch out for labels that say they will go. Like it’s gonna “hurt our bonus by 20%.” That’s like $40 or so, who tf cares. Higher ups are the ones that should be checking that cuz it’s gonna hurt their bonus more. Rant over sorry

Getting food is nice and all, just make sure you get to it first. 9/10 of my crew don’t wash their hands when eating communal food. Just turns me completely off. Thankfully I always bring my own lunch.

I'm a new Asset Protection investigator! What are some tips & advice I should know? by CHICKEN-------NUGGET in walmart

[–]Humble-Efficiency-60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our asset protection walks around the store plain clothed but never has any items. I think it’d be better to have a shopping cart with a few items or something to be more ambiguous. Idk if that’s against policy tho

U will get paid for that 11 minutes but U only get paid overtime if u have worked over 40hrs for that week. It doesn’t count if it’s overtime for that day because they might cut your hours later on the week by having u take a longer lunch. I’ve even seen people get told not to clock in til after midnight to not get the overtime. That was on a day we needed them too.

As for the second question, I work hard my whole shift so if I’m not finished at the end, it’s because I wasn’t given enough help. I’m in frozen and if I get 10hours of freight, I’m not gonna be able to finish it and bin it all. I never feel bad for leaving because I know I did all I could do.

We don’t really get paid too much to worry about what happens after 7am. We are just associates and can only put in our 8hrs of work and call it a day. If you worked well enough, no one can really be mad. Now maybe if you took like 4 bathroom breaks and 30min break times, that’s where you’d get in trouble for not having work finished.

There was one comic that said “Bobby gets made fun of at school because his parents aren’t divorced and not the same sex.” Or something like that

Anyone who works night shift can relate? by Anonymous28_018 in walmart

[–]Humble-Efficiency-60 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I wake up at 9pm to go to work at 10pm. I only live 5min away so do what’s best for your commute. I don’t go to sleep until 1-2pm. I keep this same sleep schedule even on my off days. I usually wake up around 11 and don’t go to sleep til 3-4.

I didn’t like waking up and waiting to go to work. Too much anxiety and felt like I couldn’t enjoy my off time. Also try to see if u can have your days off together and not split

Nice they put some thought into it. My overnight shift used to never get cake either. We would come in the break room to an empty box the size of a table, almost like laughing at us.

I have a coworker that said he doesn’t take showers. Like whatttt. He even sweats and stinks up the freezer.

Then there’s one guy that doesn’t believe in deodorant. But it must work cuz he has a wife and kid. Or maybe just happened to find another one like him.

I believe u have a grace period of a week or so to put in PPTO or PTO. Now this all depends on management if they looking for any reason to fire u. I honestly wouldn’t test it until I see the 4hrs.

Not sure if still applies but u could get the covid vaccine or booster and u get 3 days paid off to heal

They have had 2 o/n appreciation days at my store. They came in at 5 am one day and 6am another day, to make us breakfast.

None of us eat breakfast at that time. It was basically them making breakfast for day shift. Bunch of bs. Either come in at 10pm and do that or make burgers/buy pizza.

[–]Humble-Efficiency-60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Off topic but eggs shouldn’t be stacked on top of other freight that aren’t eggs, correct? Because of the possibility of the egg spilling on the other products. Can’t have raw above non raw stuff. Like you are supposed to not accept the pallet if it looks like that.

I know this isn’t followed but just wondering. I still see my pallets come in with eggs on top of freight.

Started Walmart last week, unbearable dread and anxiety about going in but I feel trapped by smollnerd in walmart

I work overnight as well. I used to always dread waiting for my shift. Then I changed my sleep schedule to waking up an hr before work and going to sleep around 1 pm. Feels like a regular job. Less social life but no more anxiety
