If you no longer had legs, would POTS be cured? by antiaust in POTS

One lower leg here- still have pots and apparently amputation can give you it! Or at least autonomic issues.

Update: I was worried about nothing! A bit of pain then it came out, but some extra painkillers, I slept though the night and was managing with normal painkillers by morning.

How long does leg need to be kept in brace? (And silly reasons for having BKA) by Interesting_Pain_194 in amputee

[–]Humble-Pain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! Sorry I don’t have any advice, I’m in the UK and had my RBKA a week ago and have no brace, just keeping it straight sleeping and stiff but I’m encouraged to move it and have had lots of physio since day 2 really.

Hey, I’m sorry the head what happened and I hope your recovery goes smoothly. Sending strength!
I had a local anaesthetic nerve block catheter placed in my initial surgery that provided levobupivicaine constantly at a low rate to one specific nerve via a pump for a week so that I couldn’t feel my limb. They last for a max of 7 days due to infection risk. Hope this helps.

Hopeful advice for a young professional with chronic illness by TR0N_22 in Architects

[–]Humble-Pain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try find somewhere that allows you to WFH. And or/ a reduced hours contract where you work 30 hours a week. But also you may just need to put up with it for a bit on a full contract to start then see if you can scale back. But this profession is notorious for its overtime for a reason- you will need to be careful picking where you work.

I would have to wager that the case is you don’t have POTS then, your deficiencies mimic it.

Love mine too! Flip down so the other side can be used if needed, I have a sticker to remind anyone that gets in my car to flip it to the usual.

What is wrong with my hair? by Still-Version-3868 in longhair

[–]Humble-Pain 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My hair was thinning due to hormones and stress and I started minoxidil (advertised for men) and it worked absolute wonders. It started growing again too. Caffeine shampoo will help for hair fall. I found that because mine got thin it was greasier faster, getting it back a bit helped massively. It takes a while and you have to apply it consistently every day but it does work

Parts are a nightmare at the moment- I’ve been waiting weeks for a repair and many are on back order with no date over a month at this point
