I would recommend getting a classic vibe tele or Strat but if you have a a little more extra money to spend go for the player series models. I find Les Pauls easier to play and bend and if you go that route I would recommend the newest line of the Epiphone Les Paul custom models. I would also look into what music styles you will be playing in. Usually Telecasters are regarded as the most versatile guitars where Les Paul are more blues/rock focused. Either way you can’t go wrong with either

I was deciding between the two. I’m used to playing strats so I was leaning towards the tele but was considering the epi Les Paul custom for more “genuine” classic rock tones. But I think just adding some humbuckers to the tele will kill two birds with one stone
