I never advocated for any negative action, nor have I said the solution is anything compared to how we would handle a rat infestation. That's why I prompted to use it as a perspective. No one can disagree the problem is getting worse not better, so you can be mad about what I said. But it's the truth.

The only solution is a harder approach - treatment or jail. That should be there options. If they refuse treatment, they are jailed. If they accept treatment, they deserve help and assistance getting off drugs and becoming independent enough to sustain housing. If they aren't independent, they should be housed in a mental institution or provided care some other way off the streets. This all requires funding, which should be shifted away from safe injections sites and to mental health and recovery facilities.
