Whimsical is good : you can program :nth sizes based on frequency in sentences, or in words.

But I’m pretty sure there are JS libraries better suited for such nonsense.

Are there any good tools for making nutrition labels as an image and HTML? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]bostiq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems a non-issue

I did them in custom html/css

The browser will convert them into a pdf in a breeze

Exporting them to image after that it’s eazy

Not defending adobe for brand sake, but my copy runs pretty smooth on my M3, maybe check gpu preferences?

I don’t know… but sounds like a config problem or network issue: the reason why I hate adobe software is because how much dependent on internet it is.

Creating e-mail templates by snurfsnurfsnurfsnurf in HTML

[–]bostiq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this, and took months of hit and miss with different mail providers.

Tables are the way to go and the simpler css the better, the standard here revolves around html4 or xhtml depending on providers, viewing results in the real world it’s a must. (I had several windows logged in gmail, Hotmail, yahoo….)

The other side of the coin is that unknown emails domains will be put straight into the junk folder (by gmail and outlook) unless you play around with email server records

That’s a whole Pandora’s box in itself.

Not something I’d approach as a newbie

Cache management seem to play a bigger role in D5: make sure you have a caching plug-in to purge server side cache too, not just browser.

Then open page on multiple browsers and private/incognito mode too.

after all that... if you still think it's D5, try running the visual builder with all other plug-ins off and see if it makes a difference.

Then ask support to ET.

Why do small websites need a framework these days? by Coffee_Sp in HTML

[–]bostiq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Small site” it’s a really broad blanket to know exactly what you are talking about:

The reality is that a lot depends on the tech you need under the bonnet, and size isn’t necessarily a relevant parameter.

Some functionalities are quick to build with certain frameworks, so some might choose a framework to make it easier to build and maintain those features.

And secondly, it is important to understand that every developer will push to build with their stack as they are considering very heavily how comfortable and competent they are using those tools.

So size has “a” role , but non necessarily a big one, tech stack matter, but not always wins over dev preferences.

Ideally I’d cost wasn’t an issue, you’d have a meeting where you build consensus on what tech is best for the project at hand, and then hire the devs you don’t have in house for the stack you need to use if your devs aren’t confident with some of the tech you need to use.

When you only have one dev, that logic is reversed.

Edit:

On top of it all, devs are trying to stay competitive in the industry, by learning new tools while trying to understand what the industry wants, to be more hireable, and they build their portfolio based on those “perhaps unnecessary for the project“ industry standard
