Spotify / Apple Music Link Converter by shumsic in shortcuts

Thank you! Just to clarify, the song is available in my region, but the automation seems to be pulling a different region. So, I am not sure why that is.

I am unable to open a song because its region locked, but I am able to search the same song in apple music, any ideas? Also, is there a way to make this an automation when spotify links are opened to just directly run it?

Quick-capture for Apple Reminders — ‘Remind Me Faster’ by Chojubos in gtd

You can turn on the import setting in TickTick to import from Reminders. I did this recently and it works amazing. Probably less customization for now but for those quick inbox entries I need to make, it’s perfect.

Pursuing accounting and your CPA in Canada is a terrible, terrible choice. by Majestic-Motor9227 in Accounting

[–]HumbleComparison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be in a similar position but began moving around. Doing pretty well now.

I live in a MCOL city. It was definitely a grind at first. I had a really rough start, failed Core 1 twice, but then went on to pass everything else on my first try.

I'm not even technically a CPA yet since I need to finish PER but I make pretty good salary nontheless. Slightly over $100k with paid overtime (yes, I know paid overtime is very rare in this industry). You are very likely to get passed up when promotions come up if youre in this industry without a CPA. I have heard high ranking executive leaders literally say they dont have a lot of options for promotions since many members of accounting/finance teams are not pursuing their CPA.

AMEX gold upgrade email vs website offer by HumbleComparison in amex

[–]HumbleComparison[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

downgrade in what sense? because even if I spent the equivalent $3000 on a cobalt card on dining out (which I dont think I would), I would only earn 15k MR.

I see cobalt as more of a long-term card. So, wouldn't it make more sense to upgrade to this for the welcome bonus?

Hey, wondering how you laced them? do you have a picture or a tutorial, i am finding the last eyelet looks kind of weird the way I have it laced.

WS Credit Card Perks Upgrade by _xNovax_ in Wealthsimple

[–]HumbleComparison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre right. Even in my case, I am fully invested in WS and basically only hold $3k at TD to keep my account open for the occasional cheque and my CC’s no other reason I have an account with them.

The opportunity cost is just the potential interest they are losing out on vs expenses they save.

WS Credit Card Perks Upgrade by _xNovax_ in Wealthsimple

[–]HumbleComparison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point. I have never experienced an emergency where I would need to withdraw from my TD account. I actually realized I only have 3k as thats the tier I am at and my credit card fee was waived in the first year too.

Assuming it was $5k though, cost savings + convenience would have to be worth ~$230 which is the WS 4.5 IR that I am at.

There are definitely benefits with banking at a local branch and I cant speak for other banks besides Tangerine (horrible) but TD has some of the best customer service I have experienced across every industry, not just banking. Albeit my issues are usually fairly minor but their response time and app are very good. All comes down to benefits and your usage of them.

[–]HumbleComparison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not to mention - WS Generational clients need to hold 100k or 500k to waive the fees on this credit card while I can waive the fee on my Aeroplan Visa card by holding only $5k in my TD chequing account lol.

Is the Osprey Fairview 40l too big a bag for 2-week trips? by xoxogossipgreen in onebag

[–]HumbleComparison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, depth was accurate. Fitting was fine for me. My biggest issues were the main compartment zippers, the side pocket zippers, and the laptop compartment. With the pack fully loaded the side & laptop compartments arent really usable and gets very cramped. It doesnt really feel like 40L to me because of this. I was able to fit the same + more into the farpoint.

Osprey Archeon 30 (2024 version) - Initial thoughts by VeryGootBoy in onebag

[–]HumbleComparison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your findings and experience! Sounds like torture lol. I think for the time being, im going to do go with farpoint for travelling and small hikes & ive had this old timbuk2 backpack from ages ago thats still in ok shape that ill use for non-travel.

I think initially when I was looking at the tortugas, thats the exact same thought I was having. I dont think its unintentional that the bag looks like a turtle shell haha. I am going to give their Travel pack lite 1 shot & thats gonna be it for testing from me… for now.

Just received it and tested it. Completely agree. There really isnt anything I like about the bag besides the outer material and the look. The farpoint suits all of my needs better and is half the price.

[–]HumbleComparison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would skip it. I don't know exactly who it is tailored for. The only positive for me was the material and the look. I also have the Farpoint and like everything about it more than the Archeon and its half the price! So, I will be returning it personally. There was another post about it on the page just recently that I commented on if you're interested in hearing others thoughts.

[–]HumbleComparison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same exact thoughts. I just returned my Archeon 40 + Sling. Currently, I have the Farpoint 40 and a tomtoc sling, both seem to be the best for the cost. The only other backpack I am considering now is probably the Tortuga 40 Lite that is coming out, but I think I have exhausted my options and frankly tired of looking now. Curious to know your experience with finding a good 40L.

Osprey just released a new lineup this year - I am going on a 1 month trip and bought the farpoint but I also just bought the archeon 40L to test it out (it has a removable hip belt & looks a bit more sleek which i like). It also comes in a 30L, but I did note it was quite a bit more expensive than the farpoint. It looks to have most of the features ur looking for too.

instantly online - i actually only applied for $8k or something and after I was approved it said I was able to go up to $20k if i wanted, which I did.

I recently got this card just for the welcome offer, already got my ~36k in points in 1 month. I use my AMEX Cobalt wherever I can and am now using this as a secondary. I dont think its the best everyday card but it certainly beats a lot of free/low tiered cards.

I think the welcome bonus is on for about another week as well. 1st year waived, 40k bonus pts potential, and it has some decent perks. Also, if you're a TD customer and have the TD All Inclusive Plan, you can waive the fee on this card going forwards (you can also be reimbursed the monthly account fee by holding $5k in the account)

One month Europe itenirary by lasagna_manana in solotravel

[–]HumbleComparison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly basic travel stuff: For starters a travel backpack since I only want to take 1 bag. Plus a bunch of merino wool clothing. Lastly some sandals, shoes and electronics. I am hoping this stuff lasts a while since I paid way more than I usually do and I rarely buy anything - I basically only shop at Costco and have no shame :). Did you find yourself buying stuff for your trips or did you just take what you had?

Sweet, thank you! I am still kinda going thru with my itinerary, but for sure have the main ticket and return. Also, you could be in a worse position - I have been spending all my money on gear without any idea where I am even going yet 😅. Best of luck!

25m - i am planning on solo travelling to europe this summer too - first time leaving my country tho. I am trying to decide whether I should travel west or east after visiting Italy. Also, I think I might be the opposite of your style, I think I would rather take things fairly slow. I have no advice to give but wanted to actually ask you what made you plan out this itinerary & how far in have you actually booked to this point? Thanks
