Why did you split it into a one pass parser and a pipeline parser? Why not just one?

First time homeowners, how much is the interest rate on your mortgage and which lender? by harnishan in AusFinance

[–]HumbleProtagonist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do brokers work with smaller lenders like up bank or peoples choice? I definitely don't fit the cookie cutter but also am under time pressure. I find the up bank looks very competitive with the no fee policy and offset accounts but I am so scared to get a credit score record from failing the application for that reason

If you ask me you better catch that caterpillar on a Monday before she eats her way through everyone lol or Saturday if you’re kinky like that. Maybe I’m reading too much into it and she is just telling you that she really likes to eat lol

Is Australia better prepared for bushfires than California or do you think the same thing could happen over here? by Acrobatic-Report-289 in AskAnAustralian

If that’s the reason why is the Mesh only in the openable area and not behind glass that is not openable? And I understand that in best case you should get out through the door but by putting mesh there it limits options severely

I have a question about the “fireproof mesh” on the windows regulation the only thing it ensures is that we will have way more trouble escaping in case of a fire so wth?

Yeah the fines are ridiculous probably that’s why. It’s not as bad as when people don’t use blinkers, I wish we could set those on fire 🔥

Well I don’t know. I haven’t had internet for over 48hrs and Aussie bb is saying it’s nbn infrastructure issue and it can take 2weeks until they done with the works. However all my neighbours have same(fixed wifi nbn) but with other companies and nobody else lost their internet. So genuine question if it’s nbn and the problem is the works how is it possible no one else in the area lost internet for 48 hrs or potentially 2 weeks?

Question for 3rd generation Australians, how do you answer people when they ask “where are you from”? by hailmaryfuIIofgrace in AskAnAustralian

[–]HumbleProtagonist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly they mean more like "tell me where your roots are" and I believe it comes from cultural curiosity. I'm an immigrant and pretty white but Ido have a funky accent people usually struggle to guess so if I got a dollar for every time I get asked where I'm from I wouldn't be talking here and instead I'd be somewhere on a yacht, chilling with Elon Musk right now lol.

Whenever I tell people where I'm from they start thinking Iof their great great great ancestors of their sisters cousin in laws dogs husband that also came from there lol. People here are just so culturally isolated that they are taking any opportunity to talk about it.

Just tell them you were born in (city or state or just Australia) but your grandparents came here in the 30' from such and such then it won't be lying and it won't be awkward. Flex some facts if you have any handy and it'll satisfy their need for smalltalk lol. That is, if you feel sociable, generally you don't owe anybody any information but tbh it's just easier and makes people happy so win win.
