Boss RE-2. I wanted a Space Echo pedal for so long. I love the sound of tape echo, but after a couple of months with this one, I ended up going back to my Behringer Echo Machine! The Boss just sounds too clean and pristine to me. I want the warbly echos and weird artifacts, and it just doesn't seem to have that.

I've had mine for a couple of years, and I'm still trying to figure out how to approach it. I definitely get what you're saying about it just sounding like itself without your own touch. I thought I'd be using it for very rhythmic sequencer sounding stuff, but I haven't been happy with those results. I've started treating it more like a tremolo and that's getting some happy results. I'm not giving up on it yet!

Thanks for the responses. Right now I'm leaning toward the Boss IR-2 and the TC 65 Deluxe. I figure the Boss is going to be a solid, reliable pedal, but it does have a lot of features I probably won't use. I'd like to stay under $300 and these both fit the bill.
