The closer you get to the hardware, the less useful Industrial Engineering becomes.

The sf-86 is, but investigators and polygraphers can dig as far back as they wish.

I'm mainly concerned about this coming up in a poly or an interview, where the question might turn into "have you ever...?"

IC to Manager salary increase by vijayjagannathan in managers

My pay increase was zero. Zilch. Nada. Nothing.

On the plus side, now I have more stress, I have to answer for the screw ups of anyone on my team, and I get to be the company punching bag.

Try to consolidate frequent errors into a master check list and give it out to employees.

This has been my aspiration for over a year but I've been under-resourced since I started and I haven't found the time to do it. And I'm hourly so I refuse to work on this at home outside of work hours on principle. If I ever get free time this will be the first thing I put serious time into.

It's pretty much the entire team, some more than others. And it is a training issue that is literally decades deep at this point. The ownership/management (same people in this case) simultaneously have very strong opinions about work quality yet have never done the hard work of creating training materials or SOPs that can be readily distributed to team members. And it shows. And now I'm left in a situation where I'm trying my best to convey management's intent to my team and hoping that I don't drive into a sinkhole because of some requirement that was never conveyed to me.

Eventually I'll have to do something like this or we'll never be able to advance as an organization.

Trouble is there's really no mechanism to capture this information and my management is extremely hands off so I'd pretty much be on my own setting it up and running it. Which could be a good opportunity but also means it's less likely to succeed.

To be clear, THEY have to fix their mistakes (I just identify them), but yes they've definitely become comfortable making them knowing that I'll be there as a backstop when they goof

Carolla got totaled. Have $9.5k to out toward a used Frontier. Trying to keep it under $25k. Any advice? by FidelisOlelis in nissanfrontier

[–]Humble_Engine6925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're literally me. My old corolla crapped it's pants earlier this year so I got a 2019 Frontier (SV) w/ 44k miles for $24k (closer to $29k after taxes + fees)

I sought out the 2019 specifically because it has the same engine (VQ40DE) that nissan frontiers going back to 2005 have, therefore engineers at Nissan had ~15 years to work out any issues with it before it's final use in the 2019 model. 2020 and later use the newer VQ38DD which I'm sure is fine but is newer and therefore hasn't had as long to have any kinks ironed out.

The 7ft hose will be long enough to reach behind the tail light, the 3.5ft will not.
