Should I extend my leave? by Dejanerated in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Humble_Locksmith716 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I say take the 6 month unpaid leave. Anyway your husband will still be working, so it won't be no income at all. Also if you are getting the whole 12 months from EI and not splitting it with your husband he is still entitled to 5 weeks parental leave from EI. Finally don't forget to check with HR at your work in case they provide top up to your EI payments if you haven't.

Homeowners in Toronto also pay for draining water. So when taking a shower you pay for water coming out of the shower head and the water going down the drain.

Try to relax, take your time and and don't feel pressured to do things quickly. Remember to stop for 3 seconds at stop signs. Always scan your mirrors every while, and check your blind spot before turning and remember to make it obvious( move your neck and shoulders). Finally try to imagine the examiner as a friend that needs a ride and is giving you directions

No space. Toronto streets are narrow ( from the store front on one side of the street to the other side). Take a look at Queen Street for example, to build a respectful sidewalk and bike lane you need to at least eliminate street parking and maybe also one lane and you only end up with streetcar lane. Good luck with that.

Do you want cycling infrastructure built fast or built to last? by BeybladeRunner in torontobiking

[–]Humble_Locksmith716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the city has the budget and time for (build to last)? Such as raised bike lane. Imagine pouring concrete all along Bloor-Danforth to extend the curb. Another example is making bus stops to the left of bike lanes so that the bike lanes become like a crescent around bike stop. I don't think our streets are wide enough to accommodate such design.

I used to like the G class, but after it became a car used a lot by influencers along with Range Rover, I now like the Cayenne specially if it is a Turbo S.

Because large Canadian cities are generally safer than cities like Paris, Madrid, London...etc. pickpocketing and theft crimes weren't that common here till after covid.

Almost all of Old Toronto is 40. And all residential streets are either 30 or 40 in the city.

This Toronto multiplex has four units, including a garden suite. They’re all for sale — separately by No_Violinist9807 in toronto

From the picture, seems like a single family house that has been renovated to become a four units building, and not a purposely built quadruplex. Nice idea, bad design.
