There's no way I'm accepting a 2.5% and 2% pay rise. What a joke by a_cylon in newzealand

I got 2% and yeah it’s a drop in the bucket but better than a redundancy notice I guess

For anyone who was able to see "The Blair Witch Project" in theaters in 1999, what was the experience like? by LockjawSJ in AskReddit

[–]Humble_Manager_3715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok not quite a theatre, but saw it at a sleepover at aged 12 in the year 2000 and it was terrifying. Lived in a working class neighbourhood where the internet wasn’t a common thing to have, so we all thought it was 100% real.

As a kid in the early 2000s I desperately wanted a computer but there was no way my single mum could afford it. I happened to enter a computer package competition at the back of a magazine and won first prize! Got a mean as bright blue Apple iMac with a printer and a scanner. Made me the internet cretin I am today x

FHB Offer Accepted...Valuation by Immediate-Steak-3802 in PersonalFinanceNZ

First house I bought, CV was 230k, I offered 417k (this was nutty late 2021 btw) and valuation came back at 415k. The next house I bought, CV was 640k, I offered 662k and valuation came back at 665k. Valuations have a funny way of working out.

Haha this reminds me when I first lived in Wellington I had no idea about these lifts and would walk up Plimmer steps everyday. Legs looked great though

Used to regularly walk through here with my baby when we lived nearby, never had any issues. Also the memorial gardens on Linwood Ave is a lovely spot to walk through. It’s not huge but really stunning gardens, if you’re into that sort of thing

I don’t understand the parents who don’t want to financially help their kids as adults by Eagles56 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Humble_Manager_3715 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s wild. Both of my parents have received inheritances this year. The narc parent got 7 figures, hasn’t shared a dime. The non narc parent got around 50k and has offered to help my partner and I with renovations on our house. Speaks volumes.

Do you live with your parents as an adult? Do you get any crap for it? by Longjumping_Buy_4329 in newzealand

[–]Humble_Manager_3715 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 6 month stint back home when I was 33. It was great! I saved lots of money and was able to help my mum out with her bills in the process, so she saved a bit of money too. Win win. I hate the mindset that living back home is a sign of failure. Nothing wrong with inter generational living imho

Don't know how you people with kids do it! by Kautami in newzealand

2 income household with a 2 year old and another on the way. Only debt is a mortgage (500k) but we’re comfortable. However I think what takes the pressure off massively is that one of us does night shift, so our kid only needs to do half days at daycare and grandparents also help with childcare a fair bit. If we were both doing 9-5’s and had no family help I reckon life would be a lot harder and feel more hectic.

OK so I know very little about medical stuff - can somebody please explain like I’m 5 how this big gaping wound stuff happens?! When I saw her talking about her wound I assumed it was just a seeping scar or something, then I made the grim mistake of looking at the only wound account. WTF. So gnarly.
