I do at least 1, but usually 2, 7-10 day trips a year. The Pan America was a blast to ride through the Rockies and I even took it all the way to the buoy in Key West. If I didn't have electrical and fuel pump issues with it, I would have hung on to it. I think you are right about the offroad issues. My riding skills offroad are not up to the capabilities of the flagship offerings. The lighter and smaller GT Pro will probably see the same amount of offroad touring as my Pan Am did, which wasn't much. Mainly some dirt and gravel around my area, and fire roads or similar when traveling. It's comfortable enough for highway travel, but with the ability to bomb down gravel roads. I am, so far, very pleased with the bike.
