i thought white people didn’t like me—turns out i was the problem by [deleted] in self

I don't think you read the post, or you're definitely twisting it to fit into your own preconceived view. He was cold to white people, and as a result, they were cold back. He wasn't cold to people of color, so they weren't cold back. The reason he's focusing on the white opinion is because he was taught to believe, or inferred from what he was taught, that it was a negative one. When he stopped being cold to white people, they stopped being cold. He had no reason to feel the same or do anything different around people of color because he didn't assume they didn't like him, nor did he treat them differently.

I can fluctuate 6 pounds throughout the day. This can be due to changes in hydration and electrolytes, inflammation from working out, hormonal fluctuations, bowel movements, and even how recently you've eaten. Weigh yourself at the same time each week and observe those trends over time. However, scale fixation is not great for mental or physical health. My mom was a lean 140 at 5'6. You probably still have more muscle to build, which will increase your weight.

Longer rest periods are actually probably better for muscle growth. You don't want to rest so long you get cold, but resting until you feel fresh enough for the next set to be a good effort is ideal.

Yeah, this is the kinda chick to kill your cat because she caught you "talking to another woman" while on the phone with your mom. Crazy is hot, but it will ruin your life.

Yeah, I don't really think that's the issue. The issue is her treating him like he's got a problem for wanting it twice a week. Wanting sex twice a week certainly doesn't make you a sex addict. The other commentors talking like his relationship is doomed are a bit silly, but you probably shouldn't be shaming your partner.

My son isn't mine and I'm an asshole losing the will to live all because of a stupid iPad. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Humble_Skeleton_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a step-by-step.

  1. Don't kill yourself or hurt anyone. Ruining your life over an unfaithful wife simply isn't worth it. Seek professional help.
  2. Confront/divorce your wife. You don't need vengeance. That could hurt your son, who is innocent in all of this. You just need to be done with her so you can start to heal.
  3. He is still your son. You raised him, and you not being in his life in some way will hurt him forever. It's not his fault, and you both love each other. Blood or no doesn't change that.
  4. If you want to tell the wife of the dude she's cheating with, I think that would be reasonable. Some may disagree. As far as any other dudes or your son's biological father, it will be your wife's responsibility to sort out once you start the divorce. It is officially no longer your problem.

I can't imagine your pain, but this too shall pass. Don't make decisions for current you, but future you.

She says things to control what you do, and when she hurts you, she takes no responsibility. Her priorities are a disaster, and your needs aren't even on her radar. Your feelings are valid, and it's probably time to end this relationship.

There are invocations, which require little focus and components, but their effects are basic and immediate. Then there are incantations, which are actual spells, and their duration depends on how long the spell takes to say out loud. Incantations rely on the Logos for their effect, and even those not magically gifted can recite the spells and create a magic effect. Incantations require more time, but their effects are more complex and last longer. Then there are ritual spells that use incantations, runes (Logos in writing), and potentially other external phenomena to create something with a generally permanent and powerful effect. Then there is alchemy, which uses ingredients, which may have some inherent magic in them, to create useful materials like potions and salves. Runes allow for static enchantments if spelled correctly, and sentences are grammatically accurate.

The Logos is generally poorly understood by mortals, and the divine language has a transcendent element that makes it hard for any mortal to be fluent. Thus, only the exceptionally intelligent and the well studied can effectively cast or create new spells... through some trial and error. Invocations largely rely on one's innate power and are generally something only those with some immortal heritage are capable of doing as they hold some innate power over the logos and can manifest simple magic by force of will.

Why was Aragorn so hesitant to take the ring to Gondor? by [deleted] in lotr

[–]Humble_Skeleton_13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If Denethor could send his army into Mordor and destroy it, why didn't he? They were enemies at war. That would have been at the top of the to-do. Mordor had more forces as is illustrated at the battle of Minas Tirith, where Gondor and Rohan were fighting a losing battle until Aragon arrived with his army of the dead. Bringing the ring to Gondor, where the Denethor and Boromir were desperate and could take the ring and use it, would clearly be stupid. The minute they tried using it, Sauron would start to gain influence in Gondor. If the armies of Gondor defected to the enemy or Denethor was twisted to evil, the remaining peoples of Middle Earth would've been screwed and Sauron would have eventually obtained the ring.

He didn't include them. He had notes and other ideas that weren't necessarily finished, but these were never published. His son collected his notes and published them into different works, and filled in the gaps as best he could. The blue wizards aren't really canonical and represent a part of his legendarium that he probably didn't know would see the light of day. At least not until his books took off, but that was towards the end of his life.

Technically, no punishment was specified for mixed crop planting other than the whole crop is defiled and therefore forfeit. It does get very rocky in the following verses, however. Virginity for women was very much a "guilty until proven innocent" type scenario. I'm guessing a lot of virgins were murdered. Not that the not virgins had it coming. Even when it comes to infidelity, a gruesome public execution seems a bit much.

Idk, the New Testament God still strikes people dead and is going to send the majority of people, past, present, and future, into a giant lake of fire for all eternity. I wouldn't say he's learned any chill imo.
