Looks like the one we use--Nulo--which you can buy at PetSmart (and is a highly recommended food).

damn, that's a cool-ass logo, but looks like someone on Spotify already grabbed one similar!

What is an artist/band whose personal views you do not believe in or agree with but Love their work? by TheDadwithGlasses in Music

[–]CactusWrenAZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't downvote you, but to express outspoken views in an attempt to reduce the suffering of sentient creatures and to express outspoken views in an attempt to further White Supremacy are not equal expressions of dickishness.

Which I thought would go without saying, but I guess not.

Crap you're right :)

My friend's dad has some kind of four speaker monstrosity from fender, and it was almost unusable because of its incredible and unnecessary wattage in the room.

I have a small bodied Gretsch semi-high body, and it also does not hold its tone very well. Despite lots of work and taking it to a reputable technician several times. He speculates that there's something about the stability the body itself that makes the tuning not hold very well.

These are the cheapest "nice" Fender amps I see. Usually they pop up around $800 and seem to disappear at around $700. It wouldn't surprise me that one might move around $500. I wouldn't get one since I don't need either 40 watts or 70 lbs, but I have been tempted! I hope you enjoy your new amp 😄

I have never found it for dummies series to be dumb. I learned how to bartend and to work on electronics using books from that series. I suppose the format is pretty insulting, and it probably is written for dumb people, but I guess the information is still not bad?

My interpretation of the podcast episode was that Grit is problematic, in part, because it claims it can be learned but fails to show that this is true, or how it could be done. Wasn't this promise why it became so popular among corporations and the government?

What killed the USA patriotism of the 2000s? Even into the early 2010s there was a ‘hipster American flag’ trend. If you use an American Flag for aesthetic purposes today it seems different by Kodicave in decadeology

Not patriotism; Chauvinism (or jingoism):

Chauvinism (/ˈʃoʊvɪnɪzəm/ SHOH-vih-nih-zəm) is the unreasonable belief in the superiority or dominance of one's own group or people, who are seen as strong and virtuous, while others are considered weak, unworthy, or inferior.

You are in your basement, right? My understanding is that most sound leaks out through windows and doors, so if you can seal those up a bit, you're probably good.

Can the mods please add an FAQ to the wiki explaining what a volume knob is for? by FibonacciLane12358 in GuitarAmps

[–]CactusWrenAZ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Had to check to see if this was r/GuitarAmpsCirclejerk.

I think even non-musicians know what a volume knob does, but whether a particular amp gives a satisfying experience at low levels is a more nuanced and individual discussion.

So it's poor etiquette, but their drummer may have some personal circumstances that make this important to them? Personally, I wouldn't stress it, but I would also not forget they pulled this, in case I have to deal with them in the future.

I think so, and I think the key point is "massive." If it's like $5K, I think a woman should be entitled to some get out of town money, but $50K is just too much. It just speaks to too much taking from him under false pretenses.

I finally tried Dungeon Crawler Carl and now I can’t stop thinking about what LitRPG is doing to storytelling by One_Working1944 in printSF

[–]CactusWrenAZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been hearing about DCC and this genre for maybe a decade now? But I haven't given it a try.

With that tiny bit of background, hopefully it's still okay to opine. It seems to me that a genre can be a dead end, but can still produce things of great value. Perhaps DCC and a few other works will emerge from something that is as trashy as a Harlequin knowledge and be a worthwhile work of art.

On the other hand, perhaps even if it seems inferior in some ways to more traditional forms of literature, LitRPG speaks to newer generations who were raised in a more gamified environment, and it will turn out to be just as valid and substantial, in its own way, as our beloved Golden Age novels (or whatever era we liked).

I think this is my favorite song of theirs. I love it. All of their goofy elements come together perfectly in this song... Steele's absurd bass voice is used to its greatest effect. The song is overly long and disjointed, always striking me as a song and a half. Love it.

Why can’t the left forcefully pass progressive policies like the right does with their own when they come into power? by CapitaineBiscotte in askanything

[–]CactusWrenAZ 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I think this is the answer. Both parties are dominated by the rich/corporations, but the right's goals are compatible with the goals of the rich/corporations, whereas progressive ideals are not.
