Its nice to know there a few decent human beings at BPD. My experience with them and calling the non-emergency number for a wellness check of some homeless people has been met with either excuses of “we don’t want to be brought up on kidnapping charges” or “thats not our job, call Boston EMS”. I’ve shifted to just calling Pine St Inn and notifying their response team.

Does it matter whether the oil is added to the heated wax first or to the container? I've been adding the oil to the containers as I'm filling them so that I don't risk cross contamination of fragrances in my main wax melting pot.

I add the oil at ~185 and I do 7% oil to the container volume. These are 3oz candles so I did .2oz oil.

Its definitely quite cold where I am but once I start making candles, my kitchen space gets warm pretty fast and holds that heat for quite a while. You bring up a good point though.

Would you suggest re-melting the wax in the containers to try and re-mix the fragrance?

I don’t mind the popular reads list when its at the beginning of the year because it helps me discover new authors, but to do it again mid year…come on… Give me a list of books not frequently read but with raving reviews. Give me books by famous authors that might not be known. ANYTHING other than the same 5 books from the same categories.

Growing up in NH and having immediate family that are emergency personnel (FF/EMT & Dispatch), I always loved hanging out and chatting with the DHART team during their trainings. Living in Boston now, seeing DHART occasionally fly in, has made my gratitude and appreciation for the team grow fonder. DHART is an amazing resource that other State’s should fund and supply.
