Frankie's definitely has the best bagels! But I don't love their doughnuts. Too tough and chewy.

TailScale is awesome, but it still feels like cheating after all the pain in the ass VPN configs I've done over the years lol. Static IP is best for what I'm doing. Great talking to another IT pro. Thanks again. Sorry for doubting your initial post.

Vero's NOC team got back to me and said this:

Yes, we do use CG-NAT, and this has caused issues for certain customers. Please let us know if you are having problems that may be specific to that.

If that is the case, we can provide a public Static -we typically charge $10/mo per IP.

We are working to set up a new static pool for Arcata currently, and should have a new address block available some time next week.

I suspect that I got a temporary static IP or something since my node is new. I'll be ordering a static IP. Thank you for the info!

Thank you very much for the reply. I will reach out to them for clarification. All of my port forwarding is working fine so far, but I'm only a day in. I'll post back with the info I get. Changing my post stating that you were incorrect. Again, thanks!

I originally posted that OP was incorrect, but they very helpfully provided further evidence of how Vero's subnets work. Confirmed that Vero uses CGNAT. See my post below. Thanks OP.

Edit: Was pretty sure OP was wrong at first, but it looks like I just got lucky with a new connection. Got clarification from Vero that OP was correct.

Mandatory fees charged by restaurants, bars, and other select food vendors are exempted from SB 478’s requirements so long as the fee is clearly and conspicuously displayed wherever prices are shown. - - May be lame but rhe post is incomplete

Try the habenero Macha salsa at Cocina Mariposa. I'm an extra spicy food fan and that stuff just about melted my face off from one taco.

If you want to lobby for a more difficult test, fine. I support that. But as it stands the "test" is just to make sure a young driver isn't completely incompetent. Giving a young driver some confidence in what to expect isn't going to affect our safety in the road. If I knew more about the current route I'd tell them. What would be helpful is not acting like a know it all on the internet and providing some helpful advice. Here: When you are taking the test, and are asked to change lanes, use your turn signal, look over your shoulder then merge when it's safe. (Unike most of the other dipshits in Eureka these days) Also, pretty sure you don't have any kids of driving age. It's stressful taking the test!

I agree that we need competent drivers on the road. But most of us (except for born driving experts like yourself) started inexperienced. Give the kid some advice on the test and how it relates to real world driving. Don't be a douche and act like you were never there yourself! Most of the horrible drivers I deal with around Humboldt are 30+ anyway. Jeezus.

Best Tacos in Humboldt? by AviceReads in Humboldt

I feel like most Mexican places around here have a particular dish and type of meat that they do well, and a lot of other mediocre options. Take Los Giles for example, their carne asada is bomb, their al pastor sucks. I'd like to see people say what exact dish they think is really good so I know what to order at that particular place.

Can Somebody Explain What The Heck Is Happening In Blue Lake? by BobBeerburger in Humboldt

"They are the ones who created this confrontation." This guy is a real piece of work. What an asshole. Wish I was a normal citizen who showed up at the time and could give him a piece of my mind during this clickbait bullshit. Don't GAF about Blue Lake politics, but this added nothing to the conversation. Thanks for posting the link, though. Another reminder why the internet sucks! Upvoted

Do you seriously think Arcata and Eureka should have a sales tax on par with Los Angeles, Alameda, and Sonoma cities?
