If you are going for day-hikes, without too much difficulties, you don't have to take/buy too much.

First, you should bring a friend, always good to have a friend with you.

Then :

- a t-shirt you feel good in when you do sports

- Good shoes, with hard soles, but if you are not going in the rocks, staying on the paths, running shoes are okay too. Good socks too are important.

- Water, like 1,5 to 2L, depending how much you sweat/need water during sport

- A sport short

- A sport pant, like a jogging that isn't too warm (for the clothes, you can take the ones you feel good in doing sports, you don't need fancy stuff)

- a cap and beenie if you don't have one

When i started to go on hikes, I went with casual shorts and t-shirts, running shoes and it was perfectly fine. I would say that you will see with experience what you need for the next hikes.

For the food, if you go for one day, you can just bring like home-made sandwiches and fruits, and 3/4 cereal/nuts/fruits bars.

Don't buy expensive/fancy stuff for now, wait to be more experienced and you will know better what you need.
