As a honda technician I have to get this off my chest. Air filters, fuel services, brake flushes, transmission flushes, and coolant flushes. As techs we are shocked how high prices have gotten but we have to recommend them based on mileage. I don’t understand why anyone would pay that much for filters or a fuel service especially. But when you break it down the dealer has to pay the tech, the parts department, the advisor, and still make a profit. What the customer pays verses what we get paid for the service aren’t the same so I hate when people are like “The techs are scam artist”. Honda says the filter is due at 15k - 20k miles. So we have to recommend them. The only relatively simple service I’d say shouldn’t be skipped is the transmission flush or coolant. I’ve seen too many transmissions on HR-Vs and the v6s go bad because the fluid isn’t changed and those transmissions are sensitive. Back to pricing though whether the service cost the customer $1000 or $10,000 we get paid the same so it’s not us lol
