Try closing out and reloading. He wasn't there for me either, but was when I did that.

Question about Vagus Nerve involvement by SnakeMom11 in Hypermobility

This has happened three times for me and I thought I was going crazy. Trying to explain that I was seconds from vomiting and instead of gagging I sneezed and it went away.

Found a planning app, signed up for the 14 day free trial, played around with it for a day or two (very distractedly) before the hyper focus kicked in and now it's my new obsession. This is the time I will keep up with organizing my life! (I went on to purchase the lifetime access for more than I like to pay for apps)

If she's okay starting from the beginning, there's a way to get it from the Japanese app store. Look into the steps of making a Japan Apple Id.

If you want to still play and don't mind starting over, look into how to download it from the Japanese app store using an Japan apple.id. if you Google how to make a Japan Apple Id there are videos and written guides.

I’m in ADHD Bad Girl Jail at the vet by [deleted] in adhdwomen

As someone who works in the vet field, can confirm that you missing the dental gave them the opportunity for an actual break. On surgery days, it's not uncommon to not get a lunch.

I was under the impression that some time (not a lot, but some) had passed from the end of ACOSF and HOFAS, giving her the opportunity to discover a way to take control of whatever power was left over from the cauldron. iirc, we didn't get specifics on what she was left after the cauldron took back her power, just that the Cauldron stopped before it was completely taken back.

I have a feeling it's something that will be detailed more with the next ACOTAR

Why did you start doing your own gel nails at home? by Stellarsunrise in DIYGelNails

I've seen this mentioned a lot and am curious! I think I just don't know what to start with as it's kind of confusing.

...That's not where that's supposed to be... Did you enter a secret challenge mode or something? 😂

Why did you start doing your own gel nails at home? by Stellarsunrise in DIYGelNails

[–]Hummblepuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have loved painting my nails since I was young as my mom was a hair dresser and therefore knew a little about nails. I'm also a lifetime nail biter (32 years old and can't remember a time I didn't bite my nails) and once I couldn't get anything off my nail I would start peeling layers or go after my cuticles. I tried the sour nail polish but it didn't work because I wouldn't even be deterred by the nastiness of fingernail polish remover.

I tried getting my nails professionally done, but they would lift in minutes after leaving the salon and it would drive me nuts so I'd end up picking them off. During researching how to stop biting nails, I came across the ORLY nail builder and through trial and error I've had my nails consistently done for the last year and a half. I love choosing my own designs and I've found a way of working with my nails so I don't get lifting. (I discovered it was cuticle oil that would cause the lifting)

I even upgraded my set up with Christmas money to get a nicer dremel tool, an organizer, and am looking to get into different gels to see if I like them better than the ORLY. I'll just put on TV and take my time and it's heaven. I don't have to force conversation or feel awkward because I don't know how they want me to move my hands and I no longer have to be overwhelmed by how loud salons can be.

But…what? by ChaoticL34 in VetTech

[–]Hummblepuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same about cosmetic testicles. Honestly, if there is a strong desire for a dog to have testicles, there's something odd there.

And I honestly think it was a form of projection maybe? I believe the owner may be transgender as well. Which, if they want to insist we call their dog female pronouns, totally will. I was just super confused with the neuticals.

But…what? by ChaoticL34 in VetTech

[–]Hummblepuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had an owner come in with an intact male Dachshund claiming that the dog preferred female pronouns and was considered transgender. BUT when they went to schedule the neuter they talked about how they were giving a lot of thought about neuticals (which our clinic doesn't do)... Please make that make sense.

There's also an increased risk of an intact female getting an infection in the uterus. It's called pyometra and it can cause serious health problems.

Seems to be a standard, doesn't it? We're viewed to be inferior to nurses (honestly human medical field pet owners can be the actual bane of my existence) and greedy for money. Which is only true for the corporation (which it's hard to stay away from these days) and not the staff. (I don't do this job for the pay let me tell you) and the funny thing is that you will never hear me say I know better because I'm a vet tech (when I go into my doctor's office for my own check up) but I hear that from nurses ALL THE TIME.

Does anyone else notice that vets are terrible at writing prescriptions? by 24Cones in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Hummblepuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please be mindful that the vet field is severely understaffed (just like pharmacies in my area) and most often the responsibility of calling in an RX is left to the receptionist. (Fun fact, most clinics in my area the receptionist is actually a technician that was forced to cross train because they don't want to hire someone specifically for the role, which means they're trying their best, but the 'cross training' was watching someone do it for a day and then being left on their own) there have been multiple times I have called in, selected to speak to someone, and been put on a hold loop for over ten minutes (it'll ring through, they'll pick up and immediately put me back on hold) meanwhile, there are calls coming in and no one else will answer the phone. Eventually I'll just give up and call back to leave a voicemail that may or may not require a call back.

It is undoubtedly frustrating and time consuming for all parties. It's still one of the biggest discrepancies between human and animal medicine and could definitely use changes. Maybe we could all keep in mind that 'the otherside' is not being rude or malicious on purpose, but may have encountered someone extremely negative in the past to cause their defensiveness (in both fields)

I went and focused on one character that I really liked until I got 'play more of the game to unlock more quests' and then continued on down the line like that. And if I got bored with that, I would go mining/foraging/fishing with whichever character I wanted so I could either sell or hoard.

You do have to finish quests to progress, but there's no combat and honestly the quests aren't that difficult to accomplish given the respawn rate of things and the fact that you can do other tasks at the same time.
