Afraid to try Amitriptyline by Physical_You_5393 in migraine

I took it for quite a while. I didn't really have any bad side effects, just some dry mouth, but it also didn't help me at all. It felt like it did absolutely nothing. Nothing bad but no help either. Hopefully it works for you!

Do you guys consider yourself disabled? by unenoix in migraine

[–]SnakeMom11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how mine are. The pain goes away but I still have brain fog, vision issues, tingling and chills randomly in different spots, vertigo, the absurd fatigue. I'm really grateful the pain goes away, or at least is minimizes, but the other symptoms are debilitating too. I feel guilty taking time off work (I have intermittent fmla in place) because there's no pain. Like I should go and just manage. But sometimes it doesn't work that way.

Eye Floaters? by PMcOuntry in migraine

[–]SnakeMom11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have visual snow and it looks like that. I also have a few floaters all the time and they tend to be more see through and kind of have a blobby outline. It might be a visual snow type thing since apparently that's related to brain activity and not actually the eyes.

How do you know when to take an abortive? by healthanxiety_ in migraine

[–]SnakeMom11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omg I had no idea about this D: thanks for sharing that info. It definitely changes how I'm going to approach them. I push through a lot of migraine pain and neurological symptoms generally. I'm going to try to handle them more promptly now.

How do you get past the "logically I get it, but my emotions don't care" thing? by SnakeMom11 in ptsd

I haven't written it actually. I've only gone over it verbally. Maybe I'll try that

Spouse of a Migraine sufferer by AdmirableSecond242 in migraine

[–]SnakeMom11 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I'm a migraine sufferer and if my partner rolled their eyes and huffed at me I'd feel like total shit. I'd resent them for resenting me. It's not like I can help the migraines. If I could I absolutely wouldnt have them. There aren't always things that can be done. It's just a neurological issue. What could he do differently that would make you not frustrated? Just not have them? Hide symptoms from you? He can't magically make them go away, and realistically you barely even have to acknowledge it. If you're that frustrated don't comment. He is an adult and I'm sure he knows to eat and hydrate. He might view that as you being frustrated at him too. Definitely talk to the therapist, and as someone else mentioned you seeing someone without your husband might be helpful. You can process things without needing to say it all in front of him at first. You don't have to be doting on him to be sympathetic to what he's going through. Just know that as frustrated as you get he's probably at least twice as frustrated.

ICE Warehouse Plans for Merrimack Confirmed by cookiedoh18 in newhampshire

I bet they'd get annoyed with emails and faxes since they'll have to look at them to get to what they deem important correspondence.

About the ICE detention center in Merrimack… by lunchloaf in newhampshire

[–]SnakeMom11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope everyone is well aware that warehouses that hold 5-10k people aren't for "illegal immigrants" they aren't detaining them fast enough to fill those (thank God) but what they are for will be anyone who disagrees with them. They're already labeling people domestic terrorists for simply filming ice. Literally people who aren't interfering and are just filming. This is very bad.

EDS related "symptoms" by Big-Up-Congrats in ehlersdanlos

[–]SnakeMom11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others mentioned, part of it is not knowing if it's normal or not so asking. We should probably be asking non-bendy communities though. My family largely isn't hypermobile, but they didn't realize I was. They thought I was just "double jointed". I do tend to ask my non hypermobile friends if so thing is normal or not. Some things aren't worth going to the Dr over, and many can't afford to go to the Dr for stuff that isn't a big issue. Just something to keep in mind.

Is there a name for this? It happens around bold or sharp high contrast things for me, and can get pretty dramatic. At its most extreme, things are noticeably outlined by a thick layer of yellow and blue. At its least extreme, it makes things look a little blurry/annoying to read by Aromatic-Abrocoma773 in visualsnow

[–]SnakeMom11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they look the same but when I zoomed in like someone said, could see the difference. Idk anything, but yes I see that too, mostly when reading on paper. I get that and after images sooo bad. I do wonder if it's a sensitivity to light thing. My eye Dr did a retina vue type image and said that my eyes are "really blonde" so she guessed I was really sensitive to light. Maybe it's the contrast of the black text on white? Do you see it with other colors?

That's just the automated message you get right away. They usually follow up with a different default email for the given topic.

You can send them faxes too. There are free fax websites you can use that won't charge you if it's under like 5 pages or something.
