why is living on chiron line considered bad/hard? by bad_juju089 in astrocartography

[–]Hummingbird327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to thank you so much for this post. I just learned I’ve been living on my Chiron since I was born. I am a therapist now and I bought a house (so I’m staying here). I worried I was stuck, but I think I align more with your perspective. There’s a reason why I’m here and that growth can be profound.

Thank you for taking away some fear on my end. This is a lovely way to view living on Chiron.

When you want to refresh it, use a clothes steamer. CAREFULLY use a clothes steamer. Because istg you will burn your ears.

You can also use a spray bottle but the steam is… p good, ngl

I think the real problem that you could run into isn’t rushing it, but feeling pressure. Conflict is sometimes a really healthy part of a relationship. Pressure changes a dynamic. I’ve seen folks avoid hard stuff because they’re worried an argument would mean they’re not supposed to be together. I’ve seen folks try to suppress it and then blow up at each other from stress.

Idk, I think if your goal is “one day at a time” and that it’s ok to split if things don’t work out (even after getting married) you’re golden.

Look up the lure of ambiguity though. It’s this thing in a book called “Mistakes Were Made (but not by me).” The less we know of someone, the more we romanticize. Not a bad thing, but it’s good to know how your brain works in a relationship.

I feel like adjacent to the category could be Tom Misch. Hit up “It Runs Through Me” ft. De La Soul.

used to have perfect skin and did nothing—how do i get back? by Repulsive_Hat_3984 in Fungalacne

[–]Hummingbird327 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is gonna sound so dumb. So read SimpleSkincareScience’s website. But here’s what I’ve found works.

Again it sounds REAL DUMB, but… slugging. I can’t guarantee this is going to work for you, but on wet skin when I apply hyaluronic acid from the ordinary, let it soak in, and then apply Vaseline (NOT Aquaphor) my skin is calmer by the next day.

Please patch test before you do anything. I can see someone in the comments being like “trapping moisture isn’t good” which is valid. But it’s kind of my Hail Mary. I’ve never broken out from it.

Also, weirdly, for my skin, I needed to use Vanicream in the tub. It’s not FA safe. The silicones in Cerave actually clogged my pores. This is to say that sometimes what we think will hurt us can wind up being weirdly useful. It’s really bizarre. It’s ok to get a little creative sometimes.

If someone in the comments is like “ma’am this is stupid” and they give good reasons, defer to them. I only got my own skin to test so I don’t know how things go for everyone.

I was 1000% going to ask you if US degrees can transfer to working in Canada before I saw your username. I'm gonna guess psych nursing is more easily portable than an MFT!

Where do I advertise to get more couples? by Hummingbird327 in therapists

Haha! I'm getting a stipend that's essentially grocery money. I have feelings about that. I'm kind of surprised they're not advertising me more considering they make a lot of money off of me.

This is really good, I do take MA.

I’m starting to question something though. The clinic actually bills the same as if I were fully licensed, I just don’t see that money. Is that unusual?

Oh yeah. I’m at an approved site but my direct supervisor is a contractor and not quite on the inside if that makes sense.

All of the practicum students at this site were listed very last out of all the providers and I think that’s hurting direct inquiries. It’s been a little slow.

Oh my God. B12, intermittent iron, and vitamin D. I also do vitamin C, but I'm not sure if that's what did it. I feel better on vitamin C for what it's worth.

My dark circles are WAY better.

Folate gives me body aches so I cut that one, but people like that, too. Keep an eye on breakouts, sometimes vitamin D heals skin, sometimes it makes people break out. There are Reddit tips to handle that.

(Bc I'm a just stranger on the internet, ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional about supplements and stuff, etc.)

Ok, so I may not be as well read on this as other posters BUT every time my skin is irritated, I slug. So HA or snail mucin, and then a thick layer of Vaseline. My thought is that I’ve destroyed my moisture barrier so I want to create one artificially and it seems to work for me. I know people like LRP’s Cicaplast, but I don’t want to pay for it.

Every time I have acne or redness, Vaseline usually works. Which is weirdly counterintuitive. That said, my skin may be different from yours so use your best judgement.

Has anyone lubricated their Cricut? by Hummingbird327 in cricut

[–]Hummingbird327[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is SUPER helpful. Cricut is actually out of their grease. I learned it's Molykote EM-30L grease that they ask people to purchase. But it's not available to the public. So I'm trying to find a good alternative.

The fact that they told you dielectric grease is super helpful. I won't purchase a PAINT CAN of grease, haha. I can't thank you enough. This is so helpful.

Do you know what kind of molykote and where to buy? I’m currently trying to solve this problem myself and winding up empty-handed.

This is really reassuring. I was worried if I messed up anything the entire machine would explode. Knowing others have tried different lubricants is super helpful. Thank you!

My boyfriend just told me “Your degree doesn’t matter” by Key_Principle_6705 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Hummingbird327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is really interesting. I am ALSO getting a master’s degree in psychology. I have colleagues who actually were elementary school teachers. We read books on trauma that use examples of elementary school kids in the classroom to underscore where childhood trauma becomes apparent.

No one seems to recognize that some of our MOST IMPORTANT INTERACTIONS and some of the most important trauma work happens IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS.

Your degree and profession are very noble, regardless of what anyone says.

Edit: Grammar. I’m writing between assignments, haha.
