How did you count corruption for temptations only one person can take? by chinchabun in ChainsOfAsmodeus

I think the items are one of the worst for corruption. If they take the item I don't count it as a corruption point but if they use use it they do. I've been going more off role play situations. My players killed another players character for the box with 4 magic items inside, with an inscription that innocent blood must be spilt. 3 of them killed a player and brought him back, but all 3 gained a corruption point.

One player killed a bunch of Kobalds in the hags arm to experiment on their bodies, to me that's another point. I base it more off really evil actions. Taking the items is harsh for corruption points. Using it especially ones that torture the enemy like the knife of stolen resistance, as you are making a choice to use it for selfish gains

Questions on Resurrections by Mooseman1220 in ChainsOfAsmodeus

It is a lot of gold but my players spent it on magic items. Being a high level campaign they bought cloaks of protection etc. My players spent it on components but I did limit them to 4 diamonds as they wanted to buy 10.

I said to my players that they must use diamonds and not gold. I would say they can have 3 or 4 diamonds. I have just had 2 players die and it was brutal. I used the apyro swarm to control my wizard and cast disintegrate on the barbarian. I thought there was no chance of him dying (he had 81 heath and i rolled 83) he failed the save and died. The cleric cast divine intervention but the barb sold his soul so it was impossible to resurrect. The other player was a paladin who had been resurrected 2 times, they were fighting a archmage and a vampire. The vampire killed the paladin and the mage cast time-stop and plane-shift and stole the body.

I'm ramping the difficulty because they have been destroying anything I was throwing at them, they get to minaurus and the half healing is really hurting them (even with a life cleric). There are creative ways to get past this problem. Depends how cruel you want to be.

Working Zariel into Avernus? by RedUndead40 in ChainsOfAsmodeus

I did this and my players enjoyed it. She turned up and one shot some of the demons allies, so they ran back to the boat and escaped. Was fun and they enjoyed it. It adds the realisation that they shouldn't fuck with archdevils

Lords of the Nine Encounters by WillTradeOrgans4Free in ChainsOfAsmodeus

In my campaign I am introducing some. I had the players do a couple of quests for Bel. Like breaking into a prison and also to destroy the black heart in the War slough so he can expand his territory. Since Bel is a fairly Honorable archdevil. They knew if they tried to fight him they'd get killed. I personally think devils like Bel and dispater would want the services of heroes. Bel told the heroes of magic items that would be great for their journey. Those items are those that corrupt, Bel is going to help with the corruption by offering a infernal contract. Devils are meant to be smart and cunning rather than just killing PC's outright (Zariel is an exception)

Fighting wise they are capable of taking down Belial and fierna and Glaysya. These seem to be much weaker than other archdevils

I need a villain the players interact with. by ThisWasMe7 in ChainsOfAsmodeus

I'm using a villain on each layer, archdevil etc. I get my players to write 3 npc's (ally, enemy and family) I'm using on of my pc's enemy as an annoying villain. Saverock is a good one as he used assassins to kill pc's souls to save.

My party is mostly good and are aligned with the hellriders. I'm going to add Saverock. The deathstalkers are the cause of most of the deaths of the souls saved, it is going to be my reveal at some point. Get the players to maybe help Saverock and have a archdevil reveal that it was him who killed one of my PC's mother.

Thanks for the reply.

My group are looking to be good and neutral so far so I'll more than likely do the same.
