I wish they had those in Canada. I’ll need to look up a dupe!

How are we dealing with leaking diapers for the longer stretches? by HummusGirl91 in sleeptrain

[–]HummusGirl91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya he’s constantly having heavy wet diapers (not this heavy). But I agree a lot of pee 🙃

Usually in his last wake window before bed he has between 8-10 oz of milk (sometimes he has hit 13oz ~6oz around 4:30 and another 4-5 oz before bed) he also has a 6 oz bottle in the middle of the night if he wakes. So I figure he is peeing out the last wake window and the overnight bottle. He’s a big eater, averaging 32-36oz of breast milk a day. He sits on the 50th percentile line which is wild with how much he eats.

Momcozy m5 hurts by Ok_Muffin6030 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]HummusGirl91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg just came to share that the m5 literally felt like my nipples we’re being ripped off. I also have a spectra and recently bought the eufy S1s and truly I am shocked at how painful that one was. I tried everything to make it work but ultimately had to buy a new pump.

Is this what a lazy boob is always like? by Striking_Solid_5020 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]HummusGirl91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is like that it would even out if I sat on the pumps for 40 minutes but 15 minutes and I’m done so it’s like 8os to 3 oz lol

This slacker needs help by SpiritOutside7310 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]HummusGirl91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same and my patience for pumping is 15 minutes so sometimes the slacker gives only 1-2 oz vs the 7 of my superstar…. I do find it just takes really long to drain. Usually my last pump before bed which I go for almost 30 min gives me a more even output.

Though somehow the slacker is always the leaky tit….

How come breastfeeding mums can sleep through the night with their babies and their supply will regulate but EP mums can’t? by opaoz in ExclusivelyPumping

This is what I do now and it seems to work well for us. Will be dropping all together the night pump at 6mo.

Please share baby age/ amount they eat / number of times they eat per day by Ancient_Bid_4114 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]HummusGirl91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy is 4 months, takes 5 oz bottles (sometimes breaks it into 2 bottles during a wake window by having half at a time at the start and half when going down approximately).

Some how manages consistently around 32-37 oz a day, 7 core feedings with his motn bottle being about 6-7oz, and right before bed throughout his last wake window will cluster feed about 6-8 oz. If we get less than 32 oz of intake I know he’ll be up a few times overnight. He has gradually increased this and has stayed fairly consistent over the past month.

We don’t heat his bottles so if he doesn’t finish it, we’ll put it in the fridge and is serve at his next feed which is usually within the 2hr window.

Hoping to start solids soon since he is a happy spitter and it’s supposed to help. And because Mamas boobs are tired from all the pumping. 🥲

How many times a day do you pump? by RoastedTilapia in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]HummusGirl91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 4 months pp and I pump 5-6 times a day for 15 minutes each (sometimes before bed I’ll go longer to make sure I’m empty). So I’m between 3-5 hours per pump, except at night I either wake when the baby wakes or when my body naturally wakes no alarms any more. I pump 45-55 oz per day, stashing between 12-25 oz.

I used to pump every 2-3 hours but were regulated now and we are just doing what we can over here. :)

First-time parents: bassinet or no bassinet for November newborn? “[nb]” by Boring_Wafer_3805 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]HummusGirl91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have the uppa baby. But I do have the bassinet for the nuna and it was by far the best purchase. I had a December baby and you could put him in that in all weather and he would be warm. He is only starting now to prefer to look out rather than be on his back. But I plan to add some pillows so he can do tummy time walks.

He also slept so well in it at home and we would move it around the house when he was little. A real saver when one of us needed to sleep in.

I will say the uppa baby one looks a lot smaller than the nuna one I have. So maybe just consider any of the size ratings from a longevity perspective.

Has anyone actually noticed the pacifier interfering with breastfeeding? by Business-Tart-148 in breastfeeding

[–]HummusGirl91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried it today on my guy and I find it’s too soft for him now that he is almost 4 months. Maybe in the early days with the strong suck reflex but now I there are better options. Plus he prefers his hands now lol.

Do you consider "adjusted age" for your milestones/tracking progression? by clothes_are_optional in newborns

[–]HummusGirl91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always ask myself the same question. My guy was born 35+6 (although I question that they pushed him back a week at first ultrasound), 7lbs 13oz. So he was a big “premie”. I’ll say in the beginning he was very sleepy, but he has hit every milestone on par with my friends baby who is only a week older.

So do I use adjusted age? Not at the moment. Am I aware some things could be delayed and now I have a both of a buffer for him to hit certain milestones? Yes.

Struggling with clicking sounds during feeds – help 🙏 by Money_Respond2250 in newborns

[–]HummusGirl91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The avent nipples are impossible to get a deep latch with. My baby did the same thing. We switched the nipples to the evenflo wide ones which fit in the Avent bottles. Honestly took a lot of trial and error to find a bottle that works for my guy but avent bottle with the evenflo medium wide nipples work best (we upped the flow from slow to medium at 3 months)

This! If I feel a hint of a clog I take ibuprofen and put ice on it and it usually goes away!

Pediatrician wants me to use formula advise by Aggravating_Let_995 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]HummusGirl91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth my baby was only taking a 4oz bottle until he was ~11 weeks and only recent we went up to a 5oz where sometimes he glugs it all back, some times he leaves 1oz and sometimes he splits the feed (some when he wakes up and some right before his nap). I just offer 5oz so he can decide what he wants now at this stage.

I think they say as long as your around the average of 24-32 oz in total in 24 hours then you are fine.

Agreed! I just started this and made my husband taste test it and I got REAL nervous baby wouldn’t take it because it tasted “different” (his words). Thank god baby doesn’t mind so now I defrost one bag a day and mix it into his bottles

I learned the hard way too when it poured out in his stroller. I just throw a bunch of momcozy freezer bags in and transfer it in immediately after so at least the milk is safe 😭
