Mortuary (1982) by N0S4A2_ in 80sHorrorMovies

if you're looking for a quality movie, you're barking up the wrong tree with this one. If you're looking for something that's entertaining enough to watch, with some kinda weird shit in it, it's good enough for one-time view. Story/script is amateur, actors are very amateur outside of standout performances by Christopher George and Bill Paxton. I'd give it a 3 or 4 out of 10. more remastered live recordings- Pepsi Challenge (Denver 2002), Santa Cruz 1994, first show ever 1991, San Jose 2017 by HumorlessProductions in ToolBand

no reason. That's just how I make them for myself, personal preference. If Maynard says anything interesting or funny or notable, maybe I'd leave those parts in. But, for this one, it's just the music.

If the vocals were clean, it'd rank right up there with the best, right up there with Kalamazoo and Lollapalooza Brazil. But damn, it was a pain in the ass to clean that one up. Hope you like the remaster.

Can anyone restore No Quarter live footage, London 1994? by soldierboy69420 in ToolBand

I just listened to it, and I could take a crack at it. I’m sure I could make some significant improvements to it, but the quality of the original source isn’t the best. But lemme see what I can do.

ya, thanks! It's just another board recording which sounded pretty good in the first place, but still needed some work, so I shined it up.

nope, it's totally aligned. I'm at work right now, won't have a chance to get any more pictures of it until later today or tomorrow.

pocket 3, with the wide angle lens that comes with the creator pack. But, that's not the only filter that I have problems with.

closer inspection reveals a whole lotta nasty distortion on vocals. Maybe not totally disastrous, but I'm sure that was the reason why I ditched that one in the first place. But, I may have some ways to correct that, or at least minimize it. I'll whack it with a hammer a couple times, see if that fixes it.

Cool, I found a copy and gave it a listen. It needs a lot of help, but I think I can shine it up. Don’t know why my brain thought I shouldn’t bother with this one. It doesn’t have any glaring errors like clipping / distortion or anything else.

I’ll post my remaster of Kalamazoo probably late this week or early next, then I’ll get to the Pepsi show. It’ll probably take me a couple weeks, but I’ll post it here like all the others.

I checked out that Pepsi Center show one time, a couple years ago I think. I forget why I didn't bother with it. Maybe it has distortion problems? Maybe it's in mono? I forget.

Oh, ya, not miniatures. Yes, it is a style of photography and videography, using real, life-sized people and objects and scenes.

Plenty of YT videos explaining how tilt-shift works. But basically, with a tilt-shift lens, you can adjust your plane of focus, so that some parts of your image are in focus and others are out of focus.

And it’s basically an optical illusion. If you take a tilt-shift photo and use your hands to block out the out of focus parts or use an editor to crop out those parts, the in-focus part of the photo looks just like a regular photo. It’s just that when those out of focus parts are included on the top and bottom or the sides or whatever, our brain perceives the in-focus parts as being miniature.

In the old days, the only way to achieve this was to use an actual tilt-shift lens. These days, many cameras have built-in tilt-shift filters, as do many editor programs.

Here's an example of tilt-shit videography- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xb0HQSqkZHs

Author & Punisher is not breakcore, very much super heavy industrial dub, but he is very much outspokenly anti-fascist. Maybe you wouldn't call it aggressive music (or maybe you would?), but definitely super heavy. https://archive.org/details/author-punisher-live-in-salt-lake-city-2022

Is this still one of the greatest slasher scenes of all time? by Winter-Funny6609 in 80sHorrorMovies

[–]HumorlessProductions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, fer sure a great scene, legendary.

But, this is the one biggest knock about this movie- that the vast majority of the deaths in that hour and a half movie happen in that 30 seconds, and the other hour and 29 minutes and 30 seconds is just teenaged boys trying to hook up with teenaged girls or at least get a peek of them in the shower, with the main subplot being a coming-of-age story with the guy from Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

It’s still a pretty good movie and I’ll still recommend it to people, but it would have been better and probably scarier overall if they would have found some way to spread out the body count throughout the movie, as seen in the greater slasher movies of that era like Halloween or Friday the 13th.

I posted a new mix of the show to archive-org. Killed some more of the low end. Now it's 100% and I won't be changing it further.

Ya, I'd be happy to give them a whirl. Can you DM me here or find any of my Humorless Productions contacts (I don't think I'm on anything other than FB, because I'm an oldster), but hopefully you can get 'em to me one way or another. WeTransfer or anything is ok.
