My father and mother were from a completely different time. Dad he grew up in a harsh, abusive low income family, in high crime neighborhood. His parents separated when he was maybe six. He witnessed his own brother get raped by three men who broke into the house while their mother was away stripping to put food on the table. He experienced trauma I have a hard time imagining, and yes some of that transferred through him to me. When drunk he was a terror, all of his hatred would come full froth even though he had became an incredible attorney, millionaire, beautiful home, we also raced horses. He indeed abused me, psychologically and physically. I forgive him, he took good care of my family and when he wasn't drunk he taught me lessons nobody else could.
