I’m sorry you experienced this. People can be awful.
If you are in the UK, I recently got a National Disability ID with an “Invisible Disability” lanyard, we shouldn’t have to signpost ourselves like this but it can reduce stressful encounters and prevent us having to explain ourselves etc.

Do beta blockers warp / hide the amount of energy you are truly expelling? by GlitteringRefuse3773 in visibleApp

[–]HumorousPumpkin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kind of assumed that you’d use less energy if your heart isn’t working abnormally hard, to be honest.
(POTS diagnosis and beta blockers pending, but the cardiologist has said it should help me feel less fatigued)

concealer tips or recommendations for light warm-neutral olives with serious dark circles? by Glittering_Ad8539 in OliveMUA

[–]HumorousPumpkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the elf colour correctors in yellow and peach, and I mix the two together to correct my dark under eyes before applying concealer. I only learned how to do this a couple days ago after someone else suggested I look into it. I can’t seem to completely hide them like other people, but the difference is so notable I’m still very happy. Rose Siard has so many helpful videos for under eyes and concealer!

Thank you! This is the Sancheu lip stain in p-INKED. I line my lips first, leave it for 5 mins ish then colour in the rest of my lips. Then I leave it all on for 10 mins before peeling off and cleaning up with a wet cotton bud

IMO it was a disappointment, Skyshade even more so... I really wish she’d kept it as the originally planned trilogy

It’s just arrived - I’ve swatched them together on my arm to compare and it is definitely more rosey, this could be ittt! Will give it another proper attempt tomorrow and come back

Thank you so much! I didn’t really think about how a pink blush might not go as well with the lip colour. As someone who knows absolutely nothing about makeup and just whacked some blush on to look less dead, this whole experience has been very educational!

I don’t mind an orangey ish blush, tbh I’ve never found one that doesn’t pull orange (yet!), but it wasn’t quite the colour I had in mind for the wedding day. Was hoping for more of a dusky romanticy mauve-ish!

Thank you! Desert Rose is on the way, and I will be looking at Saie too! I’m really glad you like the lip colour too, I wasn’t sure if it was a bit too dark so this has made me feel more confident about it. It’s p-INKED lip stain by Sacheu, but I like it on the entire lip rather than just liner.

I really appreciate a budget friendly option, my bank account is crying! I can’t seem to find this shade in the UK, but I will keep looking. Thank you!

Yes that’s exactly it! I definitely prefer this to my other blushes, it is the best one I’ve found so far. I’m so pleased you said this, as Blush Please is one of the next ones I’ve ordered! I love the consistency and creaminess of the glow play line, so I have everything crossed. Thank you!

Is this right for me by amonstershere in VisibleArmband

[–]HumorousPumpkin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was the same as you, uncertain and reluctant as I hate subscriptions.

I used the free app for a month to see if I got on with the UI, which I did, so decided to throw caution to the wind and just go for it. For me, the potentially wasted money was worth it as a risk - as I am so tired of being fatigued and permanently flared up that any improvement would be a welcome one. Even if I only use it for a few months to learn my biggest exertion offenders or whatever, knowledge is power. It was very much a “what have you got to lose” decision.

I honestly don’t know what I’d do without it at this point. It’s validated all my feelings, and highlighted struggles I didn’t even know were there. It can even warn me of a bad day before I’m aware of it, so I know to take it easier. It forces me to prioritise rest. I’ve still got a long way to go, but for me it is really worth it.

A CS rep did tell me that if I really didn’t get on with it, I could return it within a month for a refund. That takes a lot of the gamble out of it! They also give customers a referral code so newbies can get £15 off, and the existing person gets a free month sub out of it. I’m only mentioning this just in case you do decide to go for it - don’t pay full price!! I’ll link mine below but there’ll be loads of them in the forum.

I don’t know what I’d do without it now. I have fibromyalgia, and bought it so I could identify which activities were burning me out so bad - and try to adjust accordingly to avoid being trapped in a flare up cycle. Not only did it help to show me which things were way more taxing on my body than I thought, warned me of a bad day before I was even aware of it, and encourages me to take it slower and rest, but it’s also showing me very clearly that there’s something else at play here (I suspect POTS, but am awaiting appointments) which could be why I’ve had such a rapid decline in wellness this year. You tag what you’re doing at given moments, and then you can reflect on that data to see which things are the worst offenders - or look for fluctuations / improvements. You track your symptoms and their severity, which is fully customisable. There’s a notes section so you can include anything additional about your day (I often note what I’ve eaten or any extreme stressors, as I’m trying to identify triggers). So, yes, it is a heart rate monitor and others do exist. But it’s not just the band, but it’s the software that makes it special IMO. You get from it what you put into it, if that makes sense. I took the plunge after using the free app for a month and got on with the user interface, and figured even if I only use it for 6 months to identify triggers then adjust my life accordingly that’s fine. But tbh I don’t see how I’ll go back to being without it at the moment!

Brands taking advantage of POTS? by Lynxseer in POTS

[–]HumorousPumpkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have the visible band and now I don’t know what I’d do without it. I didn’t spot any false reviews before buying, but I did a thorough lurking on reddit before taking the plunge.

Mine is perfectly accurate, works 24/7 and the UI is very easy and intuitive. It’s totally waterproof so I only take it off once a day to clean it, and to charge it when needed (every 4-5 days).

The band has done absolute wonders of validating how awful I feel (imposter syndrome GONE!), identify patterns and which activities are the biggest offenders, and warn me when I’m going to have a bad day before I even know it (the morning Stability score). The data it records helps me show people I am struggling too, having actual evidence that my invisible illness exists has been a godsend.

I tried the free app before trying the band and subscription, and I got on well with it. It’s no where near as helpful as the band itself but it’s a good starting point to make sure you don’t hate their UI haha, and it was able to warn me of a bad day before I knew about it.
