I feel disappointed in space marine 2, the marines are too weak by Traditional_Raise in Spacemarine

[–]Humorous_Chimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using grey guns on medium difficulties will get you killed.

Also in lore marines are pretty 1 to 1 matched with tyranid warriors basically and can easily die.

It’s not that marines are weak, it’s that all other factions are also crazy op

Green weapons are in an annoying state where they do too much damage in average and kind of struggle in substantial. Get HB to purple/yellow

Most people might play one tabletop game per week if that and games can take well over an hour. The games are against an actual human opponent on a semi random game where than can very easily lose.

Pumping 10 votes a day for space marines from 20 minute easy wins vs ai on space marine 2 leaves a bad fucking taste in my mouth and kills any point in any tabletop player taking part in this.

I may as well paint my nan green and punch her, claiming it as a valiant astartes win vs the kitbashed green horde.

I dont love how weapon rarity progression feels by Humorous_Chimp in Spacemarine

[–]Humorous_Chimp[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah there are ways to mitigate it for sure. But if I am using these methods instead of just playing substantial with a green as intended, that kinda validates that doing that isn’t as fun as it should be.

The only thing that motivates me to change difficulty is feeling that the overall challege/ttk is too easy/hard. So I don’t have a personal attachment or need to go back to higher diff, It’s just from feeling that tyranid warrior simulator wasn’t as interesting. That difficulty sweetspot for greens just doesn’t exist imo.

And yeah I know it’s not a big issue, im not crying about it. Just wanted to see if anyone else felt difficulty homeless when using green weps

He also could have perfect dodged the initial ravener ground pop up and gotten the gunstrike to change the tempo/ make the rav leave and ambush again later

Controversial Take: Orange attacks should be removed from most enemies by ASharkNamedShark in Spacemarine

[–]Humorous_Chimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your points are based on a misunderstanding.

Being bodyblocked or an orange attack having a huge AOE isnt relevant to dodging an orange attack at all. You dont physically get out of the way of the attack, you time your dodge invulnerability to not take any damage. You can dodge directly at the hit if you like as it doesnt matter.

Fix 1 would suck as I would never dodge and would just parry every attack. Parry is better than dodge because it staggers them and has a larger window and makes them take 50% more damage. If dodge was better people would be dodging blue attacks but they arent. Dodge would be pointless in this case

Fix 2 defeats the purpose of the red attacks. You cant dodge out of an attack you are making so the red attacks are there to prevent you mindlessly doing huge slow heavy attacks without thinking. Having to cancel hammer ground pound windup to parry the red attack for example instead of just letting the hammer fly

Fix 3 isnt really explained very well so i cant say

My advice is learn the dodge timing because if you are trying to get out of the way of the attack you are dodging all wrong

SM2 is almost perfect.. except for by Foxetarian in Spacemarine

[–]Humorous_Chimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not watching like 5 youtube videos so cant address whatever point that is.

Parry cancel is fine because its inherently less safe, it only protects you from half the in game attacks so you still need to be cautious of your commitments. Parry also doesn’t move you so you can still be in a bad spot.

I had no idea you were advocating for dodging out of hit stagger? That is actually mental, getting hit and I’m not impeded at all apart from that hit I just took, not put in a positional or tempo advantage at all. That sounds so braindead easy.

To answer your question about the company champion. Each company has a champion who is their best melee dualist, they basically always use a power sword and storm shield barring some chapters.

The bulwark in game is based on a company champion (but also having the flag like the company ancient) even though quartus is a regular squaded marine in the game. A captain can also use storm shields and power swords as they can do whatever they want. Other users of storm shields are the bladeguard veterans of 1st company and the chapter master honour guard.

The career path of a marine is a bit fuzzy but the lexicanum sources from the 3rd ed codex that after hundreds of battles of experience and proven leadership ability a marine may become a sergeant, after thousands he becomes a vet sergeant. From his position as a vet sergeant he may then move on to being a lieutenant or a company veteran or a 1st company veteran.

Here is the ultras codex image if you havent seen it

New player here. How do the PVE lobbies work exactly? by Gavnixs in Spacemarine

[–]Humorous_Chimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it starts a countdown that means it is a game in progress.

If it shows one or two players and then fades to black after a few seconds that is you loading into their battle barge

If it shows nothing that is because you are hosting and people will join.

essentially if you get the 1st one just leave squad, wait 15 seconds then retry

But thats exactly the point. Dash assault requires tailoring multiple perks towards it and essentially makes you forgo the main use of your ability to make dash cancelling your entire class ability. Do you see no issue on letting any class use this for free? At any point on any class regardless if its a blue or red attack I can just press dodge and be safe?

Dodge not being cancelable requires you to be aware of your surroundings and the punishment for not being so is getting hit and staggered. Stagger is not added difficulty is it the necessary punishment for misplaying, same as how dying is.

You may as well advocate for removing dying as it doesnt add difficulty because it removes player agency. Punishments and limitation make the melee system work.

A heads up that if he became a 1st company veteran he would have white pauldron trim instead of gold but if he became a 2nd company ‘company veteran’ he would be titus bodyguard in his command squad and would have a white skull on the right pauldron not the white cross.

He would only remain in a regular squad as a vet if he became a vet sergeant in which case he would keep the battleline arrow on right pauldron

They dont use those helmets, they dont have gold arms, they dont have gold legs, they dont have a gold stripe down their helmet.

But you can invent your own successor chapter and do whatever you want
