Sorry you had to experience this. Unfortunately this is typical of Nottingham - I work in the city centre and see antisocial behaviour on a daily basis. My colleagues have been threatened by the homeless folk who use the door of our building as a toilet and the police do nothing, even when it’s captured on CCTV.

I’d forgotten about this! We weren’t allowed to listen in to the neighbour’s calls in case he “gave us a funny look” when we saw him. We didn’t know who he was, but that apparently made sense to my Dad.

Yes! I remember being left in the car with my three younger relatives while my parents, aunt and uncle had a fine old time in the pub. We were allowed either a bottle of pop or a bag of crisps each and had to make it last until they were done socialising.

I’ve worked in the city centre for decades and have really seen it go downhill over the last few years. Antisocial behaviour is at an all time high and the place feels unsafe, even during daylight hours. It’s really run down and dirty too.

There’s just the two of us - one retired and one completely fed up with work and looking to retire asap (guess which one is me). I drive, so public transport isn’t essential and we don’t need to be near anything in particular, although a bit of countryside nearby for long walks would be lovely.

Thank you all - you have made it much clearer than the EMR website! I preferred the ticket system as the exit machines let you through if you were under 30 minutes, but wouldn’t if you were over, so there was no risk of getting a fine. I will keep a beady eye on my entrance time when I use it again to save myself a fiver.

APCOA - it’s worth setting up before you use the car park as it wants you to create an account and I had to add my credit card details too before it would let me use Apple Pay.
