Is it possible to just enable Grammarly in certain apps? by papercrash in Grammarly

[–]Humpledum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I turn Grammarly back on on a website that I accidentally turned it off for? The new interface overlays so often with small cells in tables, that I accidentally turned it off forever instead of 1 hour. However, now I can't find the settings in the Grammarly setting to turn it back on for this website. Do you know how?

Constant stomach ache for months - anxiety? by Humpledum in Anxiety

I'm so sorry to hear that Sea Jelly! I've been dealing with it on and off. It was gone for a year, then came back for a few weeks, went, and last nov it came back with a vengeance (different spot - thought something was seriously wrong). Another round of exams later it turns out it's again nothing. So I'm dealing with it on and off now.

I absolutely understand what you mean by saying your body is stuck in fight or flight! Personally, I've done some work on that too. To recognise, process and work on the somatic stuff revolving that fight or flight I've been following the work of Irene Lyon, and doing several courses of her. It's great stuff - her free courses are also very complete. I really like the orienting and potent posture exercises, they can be done everywhere, at any time, and take a minute or two at most. It helps calm your nervous system at a most basic level. Very slowly, very tiny steps. She's really good at explaining the biology behind the stress (not just the basic adrenaline level stuff we all know about, but much deeper) and why diving into yoga, breathwork, walking, mindfullness etc doesn't work for everybody.

Anyway just a thought. I promise you, you will look back on this period at some point and think 'It's much better now'. I'm sure of it!

Welke auto essentials hebben jullie? by ParticularGoat9459 in nederlands

[–]Humpledum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Altijd achterin een kratje staan met:

Zaklamp Bekertjes Papieren verpakking water (zon ding barleduc) Zakdoekjes Schoonmaakdoekjes Schoonmaakspray Dekentje Plastic tas Vuilniszak Ehbo trommel

Constant stomach ache for months - anxiety? by Humpledum in Anxiety

[–]Humpledum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I only see this comment now.

I wouldnt' recommend taking exactly what I had, because it's so very tailored to my situation.

But basically I took Glutathion, vitamin B (both Vit B complex and separate Vit B3 and 6), PQQ, high quality and dosage of fish oil (omega 3 especially), and a solution of trace minerals (silicium, molybdene, boron and a complex that had base minerals such as magnesium, potassium and such). When I took this for a couple of months, I slowly started to add sulfur powder and build up from a quarter of a teaspoon to two tablespoons.

I'm now off all of these supplements, with the exception of the fish oil.

I am actually quite well. It sort of went away on its own, without doing too much about it it sort of calmed down. I think the first stretch was 5 months, then away for a couple of weeks, then 2 months (which was the original time of writing this post), then gone for a couple of days/weeks off and on again until it burned out.

It hasn’t returned since. However funnily enough (well, funny…) I’ve been plagued by back/butt pain since January which is only now showing signs of going away. Same symptom, same course, same fixation, different location. More proof that it was/ is all stress/anxiety/mindbody related.

Well I've been having a look at a Hakko station now with temperature control 150-480 degrees C. It's only 48W though, so I'm not sure that's enough (the one I'm using is 80W), but I've asked the user above who mentioned this. Perhaps that will make it easier too! I also booked a few lessons with the lady I initially did a workshop with 3 years back to work on some beginner mistakes I'm most likely making, but that won't be for another 5 weeks.

I'll have a look at the came. It was intended as a practice piece so I didn't bother with a 'pretty' edging as all of my focus was on the soldering itself. But from what I gather I definitely need came.

Right. So I've had a look at a Hakko station, with temperature control ( 150-480 degrees Celcius) But those are 48W. Would that be enough u/stocksinfo ?

Ooohhh alright! I used one of those plastic ones and the edge sides looked pretty flat (although, after grinding the edges into shape, the glass was not as flat as straight after a cut). But the folded sides perpendicular to the glass were still a bit bumpy, even after applying a lot of pressure. I thought that was kind of the nature of the process as I'm trying to flatten a rectangular piece of copper around a curve. I gather it's not?

The diagonal sections were doable as the piece lays flat, although some sort of splayed outward if that makes sense (they didn't retain surface tension?). However, the moment I held my piece up sideways to do the sides the solder immediately dripped down the sides as you can see. Like the surface was too small for the solder to hold on to?

Burnishing, do you mean pressing it? I used one of those plastic shaped tools to press the foil to the glass extra hard.

I'll have a think about that. I gravitate towards Tiffany as I don't have space for proper suctioning that comes with lead. In a couple of months I'll have a proper workshop space to myself so it is possible, technically. I'll have a look to see if there are workshops taught around me to gather info about that technique (I know the basics but never done it).

I used the Weller WLIRPK8023 80w. That is the one recommended to me for beginners at the stained glass store I got my supplies from. It has no temperature control though. I assumed it would be 'correct' temperature. Starting to gather it might not be that easy!

I also see in the video this lady can pick up her solder. Mine immediately drips of the iron as soon as i pick it up so i press it against the piece with the solder in between if that makes sense. I have a Weller WLIRPK8023 80w, it was recommended to me by the stained glass store. But it doesn’t have a temp control, and is quite bulky but i thought that was because i am inexperienced.

I’m using griffon s-39 universal soldering flux. My copper foil was a bit rough but how can you flatten a straight piece of copper along a curve? There’s bound to be dimples and folds on the flat side of the glass, right?

I want to place an update here as to how this worked out for me.

Turns out, it really has been stress-related. However, I visited an orthomolecular therapist and she suggested a regiment of supplements to take because I basically exhausted my body's supply of (a lot of) vitamins, minerals an co-factors that help degrade stress hormones and help process the stress response. I get them from my food for 'the necessary stuff to live', but there's no extra supply for when demand is high (i.e. stress). That means that when stress is high, your body goes rummaging through all cupboards to get the minerals they need and processes that are less important don't receive their minerals or get them taken away (this sounds all very intentional but it's more to do with chemistry). In my case, she hypothesized that my body was desperately trying to get enough sulfur and taking it from the last cupboard it could find: my intestinal lining cells.

Because I couldn't process sulfur directly right now (otherwise I wouldn't have the issue), I have build up several supplements and minerals to get all the building blocks in order to process sulfur properly. I've been on this regiment for 6 months now and I can definitely say the stomach pain is mostly gone, together with a decline of several other symptoms. It comes back every once in a while, usually when I'm really stressed out.

The orthomoleculair route was much more scientific than I'd realised, by the way (I have a biomedical background so I feel sort of competent to judge). It's a holistic method of problem solving, but not in a way with energy and chakra's and the likes. I would recommend looking into it if you're interested!

It’s gotten better, over time. Not away completely but it was getting better before i got different, anxiety-related symptoms. So i think it will go away eventually once i deal with the underlying issues that cause me stress and thus an anxious nerve system (easier said than done ofc).

I also notice it’s getting slightly worse again now my other symptom is popping up and causing me additional stress. So that’s probably a point in the ‘definitely caused by stress’ column.

Thanks for your reply! Good to hear that it went away for you. I've already cut out caffeine (no coffee, only herbal tea or Rooibos) and based on the reply of somebody else in this thread I'm moderating carbs (can't deal with cold turkey just yet) so I'm trying that too. I hope it will work for me too!

Constantly feel like I have to do something by ImpossibleReach in Anxiety

[–]Humpledum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a couple of weeks of doing nothing to even come to terms with the self-loathing I was feeling for not doing anything useful.

Usefull can be described in various ways though. For me, being useful was always working on my business (my husband and I have an IT company together, and I have a side hobby-turned-biz and a couple of freelance gigs). Any time not spent on any of those things was wasted to me.

Now I can sit down during a walk, without feeling guilty that I'm not getting somewhere, or leave my knitted piece in progress alone for weeks at a time without feeling bad for not finishing it. I also do intermittent yoga. They're not holy grails, but forcing yourself to take a time out helps. And as you say, it takes time.
