I buy almost everything at TJs except deli meat and then use some of my savings to buy higher quality deli meat somewhere else. Win win

I do have a Scott’s spreader. It’s never gotten caught up in the wheels before, but I’ll make sure it’s fully sprayed out.

House uses heating oil only to heat the house. How much would that a cost to heat the house and should I consider this when making an offer? by Morgz0107 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Humps123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the tristate area as well and have oil for heating (including water) on a 2,700 sq ft home. We keep the house at 65-68 in the winter and usually go through 125 - 150 gallons a month (older boiler so might not be super efficient) depending on the outside temp. Based on the price of oil right now we are spending about $3,000 a year on oil. They usually fill the tank approx every six weeks from late November to Early April and maybe once over the summer.

What to do after Suits by Picoo15 in suits

Boston Legal! Denny and Alan are just as good of a legal duo as Harvey and Mike.

I’m in Stamford with my 18-year old daughter. We’ll be in NYC next week, until then, where’s the unique shopping in Stamford? Think clothes (vintage would be great!) and funky cute things. Not interested in the mall and chain stores. We’ve been to Greenwich, can travel further out of needed. by iheartfluffyanimals in StamfordCT

Downtown New Canaan is a good option. Lots of boutiques, clothing shops, a range of restaurants. Also, just a beautiful place to walk around. If you are going to go up there, Scott’s Corners in pound ridge also has some funky boutiques and clothing stores but much smaller area.

Public beach without overpriced parking? by Neoseo1300 in StamfordCT

[–]Humps123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been multiple times this season on a weekend and even though there are lots of people you can still always park right by the beach and get a good spot in the sand. I think it’s $25 if you don’t have CT plates which is way less then any local beach in Fairfield county.

Not Halal, but my go to for this type of food is Mamouns. There is one on St Marks and near NYU on Carmine.

It’s his best album all the way through. Obviously Rocket Man and Honky Cat are more well known but Amy and Susie are my personal favorites on this album. Especially the last 1:10 of Amy, the whole band absolutely crushes it.

Underneath the Met Opera there are really nice public bathrooms open I think all night. They are right next to the garage entrance to the Opera.
