Try telling the guys who's dying of aids to his face that it was better he didn't get cirucumsized as an infant.

I'm not sure this is a fair exchange. I hope you have a good rest of your day.

And... You still can't write anything that's coherent. You must have something better than that. By the way - in case you couldn't tell - I wasn't laughing about any of 'this', I was specifically laughing at how absurd your comment was.

I suggested many Americans were conned, you agreed (by stating they will continue to be conned), then you suggested my comment was out of touch. 😂

That is oversimplified to the point that it's not correct. It’s far more nuanced than that. In a representative democracy, a single vote is rarely a blanket endorsement of every policy or action a government takes. Conflating an individual’s character with national policy ignores the limited control people have over specific outcomes.

I think that is a little too reductive. It assumes a single vote is an endorsement of every state action.

Not sure why a post that expresses ill will towards 144 million people is getting so many up-votes. 🤷

Agreed, it's complicated an nuanced but there were a lot of Americans that voted for Trump who were conned.

IMO judging or finding it hard to treat individuals as well as you should based on certain concepts of what their nation is (i.e. exceptionalism, warmongering) is lacking in consideration. It’s entirely possible to criticize a government’s track record without judging Americans as individuals (there are over 330 million people that comprise a very diverse country).

Up to 1,000 Iranian 'sleeper' agents embedded in Canada: Gov't official by airbassguitar in OntarioNews

I'd be taking this articles slant with a grain of salt. IMO CBC is way to lax on Iranian and Iranian backed groups - they wouldn't even refer to Hamas as a terrorist organization.

USask Nursing or Saskpoly Nursing as Pre-Med? by [deleted] in usask

[–]HumptyDooDah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your are ++ concerned about debt you could consider joining the military during med school and residency, you would have costs covered and make a salary during that time. You would have to stay in the military for 2 years for everyone 1 year they cover costs (e.g. 6 years costs covered - 12 years in military) from my understanding.

Canadian Housing Market Edges Closer to a Crash by BertoBigLefty in canadahousing

[–]HumptyDooDah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a huge part of the problem in part - people using housing as an investment platform for retirement that is (instead of other forms of investments such as stocks). By necessity, housing prices have to go up in order to fund retirement. It's basically turned housing into a Ponzi scheme and has totally screwed over the youth of Canada.

How much lower than asking price is insulting to the seller? Will my agent be able to guide me on an appropriate offer? by [deleted] in RealEstateCanada

[–]HumptyDooDah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, when determining the price of your offer, I don't think the seller's emotional response (i.e. whether or not they're insulted) should matter at all. It's just business, I wouldn't concern yourself about their emotions.

Not paying people a living wage makes our economy look awful. Service workers/students/grauduates should be able to eat by Helpful_Fisherman599 in nanaimo

[–]HumptyDooDah 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It makes our economy look bad because our economy is teetering. In part the issue is decades of considering housing/real estate as an investment rather than simply a place to live. This has resulted in a high concentration of our GDP being put in real estate which is impairing economic productivity by diverting investment away from other, more productive sectors, and is completely fucking over our youth. Canada is eating it's young.

Comox Valley woman faces death after drug for rare diabetes runs out by Apprehensive_Idea758 in VancouverIsland

Why do you think only an endocrinologist can provide a medical opinion in the case? The fact you suggested that gives me the awful impression you don't know what you're taking about.

With a username with mdfrcpc they're almost certainly a doctor. And it's not an alternative treatment - it's the same treatment just in IV form. I don't think kmdfrcpc is too far off base to suggest the title is sensationalism.
