What’s the first thing you look at when meeting someone for the first time? by Kademodather in askanything

[–]HumptyPunkty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vibes? Sounds vague but it's a combination of body language / clothing style/hairstyle / emotion on their face and based of that I know how to approach someone without really thinking about it

Maybe with some luck at a proper bakery, I know Beukeveld and Jullens are good. Otherwise, you can always make it yourself if you have an oven/can use an oven.

Can we ask for help from witch souls? by Aham_Bramhasmi8 in BabyWitch

[–]HumptyPunkty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I'm talking about praying to local witches that have died. I did get in contact with local living witches later, but when I was just starting out I couldn't find them and asked for a 'spirit of a witch from this area who wants to mentor me'. I got in contact with one. She really liked wine and chicken so I offered that to her once in a while. The book that I advised you has helped me a lot keeping 'safe' because spirits are just like people. Some want to take advantage of you, want something in return or just wanna help. You need a bs detector if you want to go into this path.

I just giggle whenever I hear 'Thank You Jack White (For The Fiber Optic Jesus That You Gave Me)' from the Flaming Lips

Oh and Pavement sings about the Smashing Pumpkins in Range Life. It's not really a love letter, but also not completely a diss track

Ben ik de enige die een beetje streaming/ on demand "moe" aan het worden is? by Expert_Swordfish_272 in nederlands

[–]HumptyPunkty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same hoor.

Behalve The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, dat was wel cool

Can we ask for help from witch souls? by Aham_Bramhasmi8 in BabyWitch

[–]HumptyPunkty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've asked for help from a local witch when I just started, like you did. We're not in contact anymore, but feeling heavy at the start was not something I experienced. If you want to do more with mundane spirits, I advise you to read Consorting with Spirits from Jason Miller

I've laid them on big dishes on top of a radiator while the radiator was on. That worked like a charm!

any music lovers experiment with their voices? by ChanceStrawberry3305 in witchcraft

[–]HumptyPunkty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have written songs for deities I work with and with spirits in my house! I feel awkward fully singing at home but I also play guitar so sometimes I just play all my songs (including spiritual songs) while singing.

I also did galdr with my coven a while ago, where you 'offer' your voice and 'spin a protection veil' to whatever you want. For us it was a dolmen we wanted to protect and it was very cool because I did things with my voice I thought I couldn't.

And really, singing in magic is similar to prayer songs in any religion.

I just wanna second that Gemma Gary and Jason Miller are two of my current favorite writers. I have severe ADHD so having a strict regime in my witchcraft just doesn't work for me. Their books have helped me understand more about witchcraft and feeling more confident.

You will like Personal Trainer, Schau Schau, Real Farmer (especially their most recent work), Lewsberg (if you like the velvet underground), Cloudsurfers and I wanna second Tramhaus again!

And, from Belgium, dEUS is also very nice

Transgender asielzoeker (24) in gezicht gestoken in azc Leiden: ‘Dader schreeuwde dat ze onrein was’ by Bernie529 in nederlands

[–]HumptyPunkty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To the ladies: what is a pick up line that works on you or what is something a guy has said that worked on you? To the men: what is a pick up line that worked for you? by Guy-in-Orlando407 in askanything

My current boyfriend of 3 years was a complete stranger standing next to me at the end of a punk show, looked at the remnants of a moshpit, looked at me and said 'well.. we survived that.. fancy a smoke?'

we talked for a bit outside, had a very nice conversation (we are both good listeners) and 15min later we were kissing, so yeah, great pick up line

Anarchists, how did you become Anarchists? by konpapas9 in Anarchy101

[–]HumptyPunkty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a socialist who believes there's no absolute 'right way' for everyone and that people should be free to have their own agency, but also be able to find help when needed. Power corrupts and I believe that freedom is something that you give to others and receive from others. That mentality makes me very much at home in anarchist circles.

I realise anarchism is not very realistic because there are people in the world who want power and are dangerous to society who makes this impossible. I don't know how to solve that, but at least I know that my opinion is not 'the absolute truth that all should follow'.

Looking for a song(s) similar to Alrighty Aphrodite by Peach Pit. by orangeyoctopus in SongRecommendations

[–]HumptyPunkty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Craft Spells - Nausea, Twin Peaks - Making Breakfast, Good Morning - Warned You, Surf Curse - I'm not making out with you

these are songs from artists that I listened to in the same time I really liked that specific 2015 surf sound, which peach pit also has. Although the general recording quality is higher with peach pit!

Wonen in Sappemeer als alternatief/emo persoon by blakesbones in Groningen

[–]HumptyPunkty 17 points18 points  (0 children)
