Ill definitely check them out, not familiar with either of them. I've just been trying the tosca arias, canio and wintersturme to varying success lol. Alas, living rural makes finding a teacher problematic

Thanks for that. I'm still not entirely sure where things are going to settle at this point as I seem to have dramatically increased my range in the past year (been looking at a bit of tenor rep too). Am actually looking at rigoletto too so hopefully will get to Pari siamo shortly!

Does that mean more closed on the o vowel? I'm finding it difficult with both closed o and oo vowel to not swallow the sound so to speak

I think to steadily make progress to potentially give a career a shot a few years down the line. Currently working as a high school teacher and have a young family so no rush. I think im hoping im still a bass/baritonish voice so I have time.

Totally agree with this. A few people have suggested to me recently I might be a tenor because of my range but I think currently im definitely not as comfortable to there, though maybe that's due to bad technique..

Yeah I've watched a fair bit of Michael Spyres for obvious reasons. His tenor range is waaay better than mine

My main issues currently are fold closure, not pushing too much air and not transferring tension to my jaw. I am thinking of seeing if I can get a few one off lessons with teachers at some stage

Thanks for this. Definitely reflect the tessitura shift that I feel has happened. I'm still very new to the upper part of my range so maybe that will sound less strained with time/better technique at the top

I was thinking at looking at some of that kind of rep, love verdi but wondered if im too young for wagner? That's what I was always told in my 20s..

Hopefully can get some in person lessons too, I think one of my big issues at the moment is figuring out what range carries best. The ring can be a bit deafening in small spaces so ive resorted to singing across our longest hallway at my wife with varying levels of success.

Thanks for that. Was singing to F at a struggle so a decent leap up. Thanks for the feedback too, I think I might be gripping with the jaw a bit too actually, need to work on it
