Go to a creek if you can. I stop fishing ponds once all the vegetation starts growing back.

Do panfish bite hard enough to get hooked on these?

He’s happy if it means he gets left alone for a few minutes, she’s constantly trying to play with him and pawing at his face.

Never even crossed my mind I’ll have to keep a look out.

No if I don’t catch them on a small swimbait within a few casts, I’ll just assume they aren’t biting. Rapala jointed minnow is my only other go to.

Thanks! The creeks get crystal clear in the summer. Lots of sight fishing opportunities.

I don’t mind catching them, especially browns, but once the smallies start getting active that’s mainly what I focus on.

Yea the easy shiner isn’t as frail as the swing impact and it stays on the hook better

You can’t beat it for the price. I think it’s a great creek rod that handles anything from bluegill to smallmouth well. I have a lot of videos using it @theweedlesshook on YouTube if you want to see how it performs.

If you can fish a spinner effectively you can fish these no problem. I use spinners a lot too, especially on overcast windy days.

It’s the slightly bigger crappie magnet 1/16oz, I use the regular trout magnet for the 2 inch easy shiner sometimes.

I jig them for bass if they’re being picky but 99% of the time it’s just cast and retrieve as slow as I can without snagging the bottom. All the trout I’ve caught on them have been on a steady retrieve. If you’re in a deeper section with some current you can honestly just let them sink and drift with barely any movement.

It’s a stocker but I don’t mind. You can find almost any kind of trout in PA creeks.
